"This is the second time I've used Clint's fencing skills, and again and great and very reasonably priced job. I needed a new driveway gate that I could padlock from outside, and that's exactly what I got. "

"Clint build a deck for me as a sub contractor to Ezy Deck.

Far from impressed with the result - deck had very poor detailing (uneven edges, no picture frame, end grains showing).

Also he left a heavy pencil marks on the deck, which I had to personally sand off.

He was asked back to do some remedial work for the above, even then he's able to make a hash off that! - when I pointed out that one side of the deck was not the same as the other he claimed that it 'didn't really matter' and refused to fix it.

Impossible to recommend unfortunately. He really requires such a level of micro managing that it would be easier to do the work yourself.

"This has been an ongoing headache for me, the job was "completed" 7 weeks ago and having notified him of the outstanding issues the day after completion I am still not happy with it as he has failed to rectify the issues. He also states that he has a 2 year warranty on workmanship yet he has refused to rectify the issues with this job.

When screwing the clearlite roofing to the framing he failed to ensure that it was straight which then meant that I had to convince him to remove the roof again and straighten it. He was very reluctant to do this even though I was offering my time to assist him in fixing his mistake. Eventually he agreed to, the clearlite was so crooked that we were unable to use the same holes that he had made in the material already, this then meant that we had to fill those holes with silicon to prevent water from dripping through the roof.

Another outstanding issue was that rainwater was dripping back from the roof and down the gutter which meant we were still unable to avoid getting wet when walking in/out of our ranch slider. His quick fix solution to this was to pile mounds of silicon between the roof and the gutter, I disagreed with this as it is clearly not the professional way of rectifying the issue and would certainly not look very good. Nevertheless he carried out an extremely messy silicon job while I was away from the house and without my knowledge.

When cutting decking boards around the base of posts he left large gaps due to miscalculations (some as large as 14mm). He informed me that this was normal and within accepted tolerances, what he does normally is fill the holes with PVA glue and sawdust, he also tried putting silicon in one of these gaps which looks even worse than the sawdust. I would like these boards replaced and the cuts made to measure around the post.

He miscalculated the height and angle of the roof which caused puddling of rainwater on the roof. His solution to this was to raise one end of the roof 95mm. This improved the puddling issue however now it is obvious that the posts were cut too short. As the overlap between the post and bearer was now only 35mm he fastened it with one bolt on each post. and a couple of coach screws either side. The bolts were not cut to length and still stick out 45mm from the post.

I now have a leaking roof with holes in it and an extremely messy silicon job along the gutter line, many gaps where he measured/cut incorrectly, long bolts which were not cut to length, unprofessional fastenings between the posts and the pergola.

I have now had to take the unfortunate step of taking this matter to the Disputes Tribunal.

"Clint built a child-proof gate and high fence for us at our property. He was extremely professional and turned up exactly when he said he would. We were happy with his expertise and workmanship. I'd recommend him to people needing a fence or gate built. "
