"We chose John based on ratings on this site and were thrilled with his work throughout our project. It started off as a renovation, but we eventually demolished the existing house and rebuilt completely. John was passionate and creative and a joy to work with, always listening to our thoughts and questions. From his initial presentation to his amazing pen sketches to the consent process right to working on the tricky things as they came up with the wonderful builders (a recommendation from… John) to the barbeques and glass of wine on the deck when it was finished, John was fantastic and became a mate. Thanks John, we adore our new home and everyone who visits just loves it. We're here to stay, but would happily use John again if we had the opportunity."

"Honestly, we can\'t fault the work that John carried out for us. Not only was it important for us to collectively create a home that was more than a little bit special... We wanted to work with someone we actually liked enjoyed sharing a glass of pinot with as we poured over the details. John was our guy.
The house is now complete, we absolutely LOVE everything about it, just amazing. The project was a Ponsonby villa conversion, old meets new, which came together in a tastefully intertwined… morphing of 2 uniquely distinct decades.

He just really \'got it\' - he made is likely to be a stressful unpleasant experience into a slick highly enjoyable process."

"John designed our dream bach for us and nailed the concept right away. He understood our brief and with his first concept sketch and we knew immediately that he was right on track to deliver what we wanted. With regular discussions, minor tweeks and additional ideas from John that gave extra wow factor, John delivered a fantastic design that we are all now living in and loving after spending our first summer in the bach!! John's relaxed and casual approach to things makes him a pleasure to… work with whilst still instilling confidence in you that he is more than capable to deliver a quality outcome. John passionately followed the project through the build phase (kudos must also be paid to Brent Varley from Evolution Builders for the exceptional quality of the build) to the final completion. We are absoltuely thrilled with the outcome. Thanks John. :-)"

"After meeting with over 10 Architects and carefully reviewing their work we commissioned John to design a substantial renovation and addition for our tired old Bungalow in Westmere. Interviewing Architects is an arduous task , and John really stood out for his design lead ideas, practicality and outstanding value for money , particularly considering the quality that he bought to the table. To us picking the right architect was no1 critical task in our project. We wanted a house that was… stylish, functional and that we would love living in. John spent a lot of time in the initial stages of the project understanding what we were after and the budget that we had to help create what we wanted. John nailed the brief from day one, he designed a house that was not only beautiful to look at and great to live in, but also has almost an X Factor to it that is unique to his design skills. I couldn’t recommend John highly enough, he has a truly unique talent and is great to work with."

"We contracted John for a large renovation (100sqm) at the back of our house in Grey Lynn. John initially came over for a consultation and was really good at listening to our ideas for the place. We then met with him a couple of weeks later to review concept plans. With something as big as a renovation like this you want to feel like you have the best people working on the job and when we met with John to see the concepts we were genuinely really excited. He had nailed all of the aspects we… wanted to see in the place and we felt like he had an overall vision for the feel of the house, more than just the functional working spaces.

John then managed the entire consent process for us and recommended builders for the project (who we were also thrilled with).

John is an amazing talent. The house we now live in is very true to the original design and the vision John gave us. We also loved John\'s commitment to the project throughout. John stayed involved in all key decisions that impacted the design of the house. From designing our kitchen to working with the joinery suppliers directly to ensure we got the product we wanted. Everyone who visits our place are blown away by the design and we love living in it.

We would absolutely recommend John and would suggest that if you use John to trust his direction the whole way through.

We will definitely be using John for future projects."

"We wanted to extend our turn-of-the-century villa in a res.1/conservation designated area. John provided some fantastic ideas on how to put together a proposal that satisfied our needs while meeting the tough requirements of the council. He also put in extra effort with the council when things got difficult. We are delighted with the result and we have had plenty of comments about how fantastic the place has turned out.
John is a relaxed and easy guy to do business with and stayed in touch… the whole way through the project. He took a genuine interest in what we were up to and has been around since to make sure we are 100% happy. Could not have asked for more."

"We retained John to put together a concept plan for a significant rebuild of our property. John was fantastic to work with. Hugely talented and enthusiastic, he developed an exciting concept within several weeks of our initial briefing meeting with him over a bottle (or two) of wine. We love the concept and it has earned many compliments from our friends, family and the builder. We're not yet sure whether we will undertake the build but can highly recommend John and will certainly use him… in the future whether on this or another project."

"John is a pleasant easy going and likeable person. Both Katherine and i found John a pleasure to work with. This was very important to us in designing our beach house.
Johns patience and willingness to listen to our ideas was really appreciated. We are thrilled with the final design. A spacious free flowing beach house that is cool, groovy, and beachy. We love the design 'he totally nailed it' "

"Wow! John is fantastic - I gave John a brief of what we wanted to achieve with our renovations (fitting x4 bedrooms into a small house, keeping with the character of our home, having open space - and for a restricted budget) I really was asking to fit in alot. However John did it. He did it straight away, and he managed to accomodate everything I wanted.n - Very clever man - very easy to work with - and no mucking around. Thanks John"

"I employed John to do some renovation options for a house that I am putting on the market. I was extremely impressed with John's ability to temper our wilder impractical ideas with ones that gave us what we wanted, and worked! Money extremely well spent.
