"I see this company is now called Creative Coatings. DO NOT go near them. They took our deposit and started resurfacing 3 areas in April. It has been a total disaster. For a start, the surface on the front steps bubbled as soon as it was laid. Attempts to remedy the fault resulted in dirty marks all over the surface and the colours didn\'t match. Lines scribed on the front deck were crooked, and there was also bubbling there and on the back porch, with dirt also being added to the mix. We were promised they would return when the weather got warmer, but never did. We want nothing more to do with them. The product they showed at the Home Show was nothing like what we got!!"

"We have had great service from these people who originally came all the way to look at solving a problem caused by a previous contractor. We are very happy with the advice given, the finished product and the very efficient office administrator."

"I am afraid our experience with Surface Solutions was very poor. They are great people with the intent and desire to do the job but simply were unable to meet our expectations. I am still left with the mess and looking for another company to fix."

"We did not complete works for any client by the name of Maree in April 2016. If this person would like to come forward, and contact us directly, we are more than happy to discuss any concerns."

"Do not go with this company. Our experience with Tony Matley and his wife Tina of Surface Solutions 2012 Limited can only be described as a disaster. Last year we employed Tony and his team to build our pool surround next to our coping stones. This consisted of a concrete base and his stippled surface on top. I could go on for pages but in brief this company on meeting with us were very confident unfortunately they were completely out of their depth when it came to doing the work. We had nothing but problems after problems and the end result is once summer is over we are getting this fixed so we no longer are looking at ugly, uneven and rough concrete with a patchy paint job on it. With the warmer weather our concrete is cracking along the edge of our coping stones and chipping away. Tony should be bald with the amount of times he walked around our pool scratching his head to try and find a solution to a problem he had created. No doubt they will be at the home shows again which is why we feel we should let the public know. They claim 18 – 20 years’ experience which based on their bumbling workman ship we seriously doubt. They took us to court for the balance owed on this job. We counter claimed and won. Karma. Do your homework before employing anyone as this has been extremely frustrating and stressful for us. Unfortunately we did not look at this website before employing them."
    Tony Mately responded:
" Concrete pool surround was laid as requested followed by resurfacing working in with the colour of the coping stones. Once completed the client’s husband advised he did not like the colour. We agreed to re-spray the area, at no additional charge, and did so in black and white as requested. Following the re-spray a micro weather bomb went through the area and unfortunately destroyed the re-sprayed coating. As a result of the weather the resurfacing was completed for the 3rd time and the client wanted the area to be whiter. We explained that we did not recommend going with white due to light reflection around the pool. The client wanted to proceed with the white. In order to achieve this for the client we suggested applying a white sealer over the area, the client requested we do a sample area, which was done, and advised us to apply 1 coat of white sealer (as per the sample area) over the entire area. Upon completing this the client said they were still not happy and did not like the colour and were seeking further advise from other companies. After not hearing back from this Client a claim was lodged in the Disputes Tribunal, the Client lodged a counter claim. The Tribunal came to their decision in favour of the Client without doing a site visit. Payment was made to the Client as directed by the Tribunal. At the tribunal hearing the client produced an invoice, from an opposition company, to complete this area and advised this work had been booked in to be completed before Christmas. To place this feedback a year on and prior to a Home Show we feel the client has been calculating and vindictive in seeking a strong and unreasonable desire for revenge.""

"We have had a good experience using Surface Solutions. Communication and reliability excellent. Work was completed on time, and Tony was great about listening to our requests and making sure it all went as smoothly as possible. We had a slight glitch at the end as, unbeknownst to all of us, some of the sealer had run onto the other pool surface area, which left a greyish stain only noticeable once the pool water was replaced. Tony was great about coming over to inspect the problem and we had it fixed within a couple of days. Great work! Hope it's still looking good down the track..."

"I wish we had seen this comments in 2009 - Tony completed a large outdoor area for us, looked nice at first, then after 2 months the bubbles started appearing, Tony promised to fix them, they did, what an absolute mess it turned out, the area looks like a huge patchwork quilt. We had previously seen a property where the concrete layers had flaked and asked Tony if ours would go like that, he said no I guarantee my work and that wasn't one of my jobs ! It makes you wonder now. We have repeatedly complained and had several very 'curt' e-mails back, I cannot believe he still appears at all these home shows promoting his company with his wife beside him, she is the one who has been very rude to us. We thought about taking legal action against him, but by the time you pay out legal fees and then all the time wasted it's not worth it - just good money after bad and Tony and his wife know this.. I'm sorry for the people who have used these cowboys and would never ever recommend them. Just makes us very wary now of other companies at these home shows.. we sent a picture of a hole (with the fibre glass showing through) to Tony and he said 'What hole' !! Talk about a picture paints a thousand words, if anyone would like to view their work you can send them to our house !!"

"Got Tony to give me a price which we were happy with, promised first dry spell he would start. 3 days later he started on a Tuesday by Thursday all done.
He sanded and filled our old entry way stairs and applied his finishing coat colored exactly how we wanted it.
Even put different colored lines on the front of each step so we could see them at night. We are very very happy with the results. Tony and his team have done an excellent job and we would recommend him.
    Thanks Tony,

    Cheers Grant."

"OMG. This company is a disaster. I so wish I knew to look here first. Tony said he could accomplish what I asked for, I even provided a picture of what I was after ... it was a complete and utter disaster. What he presented as a final floor was a pitted, rough and through mess. We then had to give him the chance to rectify the floor. My project manager made him provide a sample this time, he again said no problem. Again the floor was a complete mess. He kept saying he would sand it flat but he would quickly put a top coat on before we saw the completed sanding then said it was finished.

NOT only did he waste a couple months of valuable time with this floor disaster but he got flooring material all over our brand new home. The bottoms of our beautiful new anodised window frames (which he tried to scrap off with a screw driver after the fact) are ruined - all the bottoms of the frames have to be replaced. The bottom panels of my brand new teak kitchen all have to be removed and refinished. Our beautiful honed concrete walls have to have the bottoms re-honed and our walls which he used electrical tape to mask off had the paint completely ripped off so we have to have them repainted. He was basically a tornado of disaster to not only the floor but the house. Luckily, we have insurance but we are out the deposit we paid him and the insurance excess. We are going to take this guy to court to get that money back- all the pictures are worth a thousand words. He can\'t keep getting away with this... after some digging I couldn\'t believe what I\'ve been hearing ... up and down the country he has caused alot of grief to people with bad bad workmanship.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Grant and Scott at SOLID FLOORS who have absolutely saved us... Our floor is just getting it\'s last new beautiful coat on after a major amount of repair work .. now the insurance work begins.

"Dont use this company- they did a terrible job, surface cracked within 2 months and they have consistantly refused to repair it. Repeated calls to office and contractor have gone unanswered. After nearly 2 years of trying to get it repaired time for legal action."
