  "Brought 2 car services off grab one.
  First car went in and immediately upsold on oil, extra cost to check spark plugs etc.
  Had issues with car a few weeks later- took to another mechanic- two of spark plugs were basically stuffed… TCC had got paid extra to check these and said they were fine.

  Second car went in. Call asking for extra for ‘better oil and a different type of filter’
  Another extra charge.
  Also said I had a leak in coolant- $800 to sort.
  These guys are a rip… off- don’t use them."

  "Don’t go near this company they use grabone to get you in the door then hit you with a long list of what’s “wrong” with your car and the cost to fix it. You will think your cars not road worthy at the end. Costs such as $265 to replace std spark plugs ($40 at repco) $99 for can of Wynn’s engine flush. They simply take advantage of anyone who dosnt have mechanical knowledge. Total scammers keep clear. "

  "Very surprised to see some of the comnents in here. I've used these guys for a number of years. First time there was a problem with a screw top being cross threaded by the dealership who had serviced thw car prior. TCC did everything - liaised with the dealership and had everything sorted, we didn't have to do a thing. And we were only on a Groupin voucher"

  "Always taken care of me and my battered SUV. Latest example: failed clamp causing the engine to overheat from loss of coolant. Was set for another big expense, but they checked and fixed it in about an hour and said since I'd spent a bit with them in the past there was no charge. It's little things like that which inspire trust and keep people coming back... my partner and I will both be getting the next service and WOF done there for sure. Respect."

  "I got completely suckered! I bought a cheap Grabone service and WoF deal and they completely took advantage of my lack of car knowledge. They failed my WoF because of brake pads, then said I needed some other work done as well, not for the WoF but for general maintanence. They gave me some prices that sounded ridiculous to me so I called 2 other mechanics who both quoted almost half of this places prices! One of the places even laughed when I said where I had taken my car and told me that he… gets complaints about this place at least once a month. He said my brake pads were warrantable but changed them any way as he said they should be done in the next 6 months but shouldn't have failed this time. He also said it is common for Takapuna Car Clinic to add on prices for things that don't even need doing.

  "Takapuna Car Clinic failed my car's WOF because of apparently worn lower control arm bushings on left and right side of car and quoted a fortune in labour costs to replace these. I removed control arms and took the arms to my own mechanic to replace the bushings. According to VTNZ and my mechanic there was nothing wrong with the bushings. I've decided to replace bushings anyway since most of work was already done and had already purchased new bushings, plus the hassle with Takapuna Car… Clinic... I took my car back to them and left the car there to be checked. I took the old bushings with me to show Rob, the manager, the bushings, but he was not interested in seeing it. When I came back 4 hours later they still did not check the car. I had to wait another hour before they checked the car and gave WOF. I don't trust these guys and would never take my car there again."

  "Hideous experience. Warning! Never use this garage.
  I was ripped off on overpriced work that didn't even need doing.
  While they also missed a crucial mechanical problem.
  The customer service is non existant, rude and arrogant.

  "I came to these guys via a groupon voucher which was for a full service and WOF.

  I was happy to see that they did not try to rip me off by making up mechanical \"faults\". I did not had to pay anything extra

  Secondly, they treated me the same as their normal customers as they gave their courtesy car. Other garages tend to differentiate in their level of service by saying no to these things.

  I would be happy go back to them again, as when it comes to car mechanic, as I am… always looking for honesty and good attitude to work"

  "SWF stranded on Ponsonby road....rush hour (4pmish). NIGHTMARE. I called T.C.C. who organised a tow truck which was there within the hour. Customer service outstanding, communication between the time of my initial phone call and the tow truck arriving was great and very reassuring! By 6pm Rob and the team had called to let me know what was wrong with the car (even managed to get this blonde to understand what was wrong) and give me a quote, which was very reasonable and an approx completion… time!!!. I was even offered a Courtesy Car. The car was ready for me to collect the following day! Incredible service, no fuss, very reasonable price and car runs better now than it ever did! Thank you guys."

  "I used them to repair faulty electric windows, which had been messed up by a dodgy lock repair company.
  As they were located very close to the company that messed up the lock repair, Takapuna Car Clinics quickly diagnosed the problem, the service was excellent and they were very friendly to discuss the problem. The price was acceptable too. Would defintely try them for bigger jobs."

  "I was looking for a new mechanic, as I'd lost faith in my last guy, I had been reconmened by 2 people to go to takapuna car clinic, so booked in to see Rob, he quickly checked the issues with my car, qouted them up, told me what could wait & what was urgent. He gave me a courtsey car to get to work. The job was under qoute and the car has never run better, thanks very much, highly reconmend to anyone"
