Other plonkers including a building inspector for leak detection that I regret paying close to $3000. and couldn't fix jamming windows and large misaligned jammed deck doors 4 days later that I couldn't use for well over 15 years now are the best ever .Perfection .I imagined the entire upstairs window frame would have to be removed.
Tracing a five year mystery water leak upstairs and a late thought of mine was to… replace 3 big panes of glass for tinted style whilst half way into the repair work . No problem to these experts and they returned to install them a day later .They saved me money with their expertise and I didn't need to even ask the cost as I could see their expertise for over 40 yrs .Wished I had found them 1st time when I moved into my home .Super happy to just pay for quality and under what I imagined .Without a doubt they are the best trades folk and know that Aluminium joinery better than licensed franchises .
Anita in the office and on site to control their workload is amazing and little wonder sensible people engage them from outside of central Auckland including northern and southern districts. 95%"The door Doctor ( Andrew ) was NOT the cheapest quote of the three I called - but I read some of the many positive reviews - and then followed the many whom has done work by him - I was a big job - 6 ranchers that needed new wheels and checking 2 others - Andrew knew exactly what to have in his van - these doors some were stuck others had broken wheels etc and all doors are over 40 years old - no issues to Andrew whom has over 40 years experience . 3 hours later and all doors now open with… glide like they were new - phew - and I had but up with for years - ..I am glad I got Andrew to do my job - not the cheap one -- as two of the doors needed to be fully removed and Andrew knew how to because of his knowledge .

I haven't slept better since moving in 6 months ago. I had intended having Andrew retro install double glazing, but he advised me to hold off until new rubbers and stays were installed which would reduce outside noise.
His decades of window work proved he imparted wise advice and I avoided far greater cost.

100%"These guys know their conservatories. I had lots of different advice and quotes all for thousands of dollars to fix the leak/ replace the ceiling in my conservatory glass roof. Don't spend any money until Andrew has seen your conservatory. He knows them inside out and fixed my leak in less than hour for $200. He instantly knew how to remove the aluminum struts that everyone else was too scared to touch and could then seal the leak at its source.

I was given Andrews number by an Aluminium Window company in Penrose. I made contact with the window doctor. The windows in our house were in dire need of repair. Andrew tackled the trickier locks and was back and forth to advise and assist. They cleaned up as they went, which is an amazing bonus, and adapted quickly when I added more work than was quoted.
Down to earth, hard working and often entertaining as they seem like an old married couple, when in fact they are not. I enjoyed having them at my place for the day. A+

50%"I hoped that if we were paying $5K for an estimated 12hrs of work (window sealing on a commercial building), that it'd be done really well. In reality half the job was done in 8 hrs, before the Window Doctor raced off to other jobs.
What's missing from the Window Doctor is 'service.' I felt like an inconvenience. When I called to get them to come back to finish the job I was told the reasons why they didn't want to, before saying they could return in a couple of weeks. Eventually we completed… the job with another contractor, and the Window Dr refunded some of the payment to pay him.
There are 95% comments on here, but the responses to the negative ones are more telling — the Window Doctor doesn't address any complaints, claiming they're from difficult customers. Here's a 50% rating, for a job half done."Andrew responded:"Wow, the cheek of some people, this was a leaky building that we were asked to come and seal with good advise on how to repair this, as any customer would know with common sense, you cannot seal when it has been raining, this has been the case in this instance, we had been trying to re-book Andrew on many occasions as he said it was still leaking and wanting more areas to be sealed that wasn't quoted for, and the days we had him booked in were not a good sealing day that we could guarantee our work. We never raced off to any other job, in fact we were there the whole day doing this job, the area that we couldn't get to, didn't have a scaffold over the top of the area he was wanting us to do!!! This was his call to arrange another contractor as he obviously couldn't wait for the weather to change for us to complete this job. If there are complaints from our customers, we will deal with them directly, in which we had reimbursed Andrew in good faith as he had informed us that he had got someone else without letting us know. Our indoor room doors were shaking from the drafts. It looks like very little to no work was done on the 60+ windows over the lifetime of the house - late 80's.
We were worried we had to replace everything. Andrew and the crew fixed it all up within a day and they highlighted and explained how things should be done (and how not to do them) throughout.
I cannot be any more happier with the results. We feel secure with the new locks. We cannot feel *any* draft even with the tail end of cyclones Tatiana and Winston. The house feels warmer and quieter.
The patio door you can open and shut with your pinkie finger. I could NOT believe that until I tried it myself. From a rusted mess that had to be lifted up to be opened/removed, to a smooth silent slide.
I will definitely ask for their business again should the need arise, and recommend them to anyone who need to fix or repair their windows, locks and more.

The rollers in my ranch-slider needed replacing. I emailed the Window Doctor for a quote. Andrew rang me on Monday, came quickly and fixed it in half an hour. I cannot fault the job. They were quick and did a good job BUT they tried something sneaky.
I arranged for a friend to wait for them. They arrived on site and looked at the door, and said that the door lock needs replacing too. My friend said no to that, even Belinda agreed, then Andrew went outside to "ring… the landlord". I was busy at work, taken by surprise and didn't fully understand what he said, and unwittingly said yes to "doing the whole job including the bent lock" for $400. I thought it was a bit odd that Andrew rather than my friend rang me directly but didn't think much of it. Good thing my friend on site stopped him from replacing the lock. There is nothing wrong with it. I find that quite underhanded. Will I be dealing with them again? What do you think?
"Andrew responded:"We arrived at the premises and had a look at this ranch slider for him, at the time of checking the door, the lock wasn't actually working properly as it should, as the nib in the middle seemed to stay out when the lock was moved up and down, the lock shouldn't move until it is engaged, so therefore Andrew rang the Landlord, as this is our responsibility as a contractor, to communicate with the person in charge of paying the bill, as we do not do any work unless is has been approved. This is our policy!!! While Andrew was on the phone, Belinda just happened to check this again and realised that the lock was actually working, the lock just may have got stuck at the time Andrew was inspecting this. All in all, the lock didn't get replaced and didn't get charged for it, instead we maintained the lock and is now in good working order, so there was no charge for this, It all worked out in the end so I really don't know why some customers just have to complain about little unnecessary events. 90%"Andrew is a glass person through and through Belinda works incredible hard to make the business run and paint does delaminate you can trust the glass job done is done properly "Andrew and Belinda responded:"In Response to Glen\'s remark, We had visited his place giving him a quote to repair and replace window hinges and rubbers which is the first thing to do to eliminate leaks around windows, where he suggested the leaks were coming from. Leaks are a process of elimination, We quoted him for some seals around the windows, but didn\'t think it needed it at this stage as he had cover over these windows, so we reduced the cost for him. He rang and asked us to come back and do the seals, at no cost to him that was originally charged. The extra rubbers he claims weren\'t done were not in the quote as we did this also at no cost to him. We recall telling him we would be there in the morning not indicating a time, We dropped what we were doing and went straight around to his house to keep him happy. Masking tape was used around his windows to get a nice seal of sealant, this is something we use on all jobs and have never experienced this happening before or complaints for that matter. We have seeked legal advise from painters who use this method daily, they have assured us that unless the paint had been prepared properly, this should not have happened, We have pride in our work as the comments posted throughout our profile states from previous jobs done by us. Its just unfortunate that not everyone is easy to deal with or keep happy and Glen is just one of these people that fit into this category. We asked the Window Doctor to help with two leaks in our Aluminium Windows. They quoted on fixing these and also updating all of the seals on all of our windows. They simply updated the seals, at considerable cost, and this did not fix either of the leak issues. I got them to come back in and took more time off work to meet them at 9am on a Friday morning - a time they suggested. By 10am they hadn't arrived and when I rang they said their man was coming in the afternoon.… After I read them the riot act, to their credit, they had the boss and his lady arrive within the hour. I took the time to look more closely at their previous work an noticed a set of seals had not been done - which was disappointing. I raised it with them and they fixed these while also sealing around the two windows that were leaking. I left them to do the window sealing - as they did not need internal access to the house. I was horrified to find when I return home that their tape had taken paint off our house - right the way around both windows. By the following Monday afternoon - I had to call them to seek an explanation - which is unbelievable. Did they honestly think I would notice - or did they just not care. They have since been ducking for cover saying it is the painters fault for not painting the house properly. Jesus wept! I sent an email to three companies - only one got back to me, the window doctors and they were extremely apologetic that they had not gotten back to me sooner - given they got back to me within 12 hours, I couldn\'t have asked more.. Though they did not turn up to the original time organized to do the quote, Belinda rang me first thing the next day and was extremely apologetic. Andrew had a family emergency and had to go… up north. Unfortunately he\'d taken his phone with him, so Belinda was not able to contact me. We arranged for the quote and then the work to be done and they were flexible enough to spend more time to fix what turned out to be more than I had originally thought. They replaced stays, rubber seals, handles and installed security stays...and I was so impressed they returned to replace the remaining handles. The windows now look and feel like new! Plus a door jamb had rotting timber in one corner so both the horizontal and vertical boards were removed, replaced and prepared for painting. I thought it would be a major and… at worst a new door! After discussion with Andrew, I decided to replace all panes with new toughened glass in place of the 20 year old laminated glass. He have a price on Thursday, ordered the glass immediately and with a good weather window, did the complete job on the Saturday. During the job, he identified the likely cause of the leaks. 100%"Andrew and Belinda definitely had their work cut out for them at our property. We had 3 Non-Sliding, Sliding doors to be dealt with. The first was in a part of the house that had uneven flooring, the second was part of a load bearing wall and the third had leaked and caused considrable damage to the flooring beside it.
Andrew assessed and dealt with each door quicky and efficiently. He was able to do the work required for two of the doors on the afternoon that he had come out and came back to… do the third door, which also needed new flooring, a couple days later. I've never experienced service that good, that timely.
Both Andrew and Belinda were very easy to deal with. They were very friendly,upfront and positive. They answered all of my questions in a supportive manner. Also thank you to Russell, who came in to help on the last sliding door. In particular, what I appreciate about the work done on this door was that Andrew did a lot of extra things to ensure there would not be any further problems. He went out of his way when he did not have to.
I would definitely recommend the Window doctor to everybody. To me the level of expertise demonstrated was of the highest standard.

Andrew stripped the door down and totally rebuilt the wheel units.
Result was a "good as new" door at a tenth of the price of putting in a new one.
Andrew says he has been in the business for thirty years and started off in the manufacturing side of aluminium joinery. So he has a wealth of unique window knowledge.

100%"We have had a bad sliding door for a few years and we finally decided to fix it..Searched online and we rang Andrew first, he told us he will pop over on his way home..while we were waiting for him we decided to ring around a few more places to see what they would say or what they could do..4 out of 5 people had told us it needed to be replaced we needed to buy a new door etc etc..an hour and a half later Andrew pulled up and checked out the door and straight away got to work! An hour later… our sliding door no longer screeches rattles or gets jammed and comes off! Andrew even managed to put on a new door handle and two locks on the outside of the door for extra security! We are so pleased with the job we highly recommend his services! 100%"I searched the internet for someone to fix our ranch slider. Andrew was amazing. I rang his cell phone and he said he would come all the way out to Piha from the city that afternoon. He did, but we have old 1960s doors and they need special rollers. He didnt have them on board his well equipped van, but said he would come back out the next day. He did just as he promised and he brought a friend to help lift the heavy doors out. It was a difficult job because the doors had sunk in the middle… over the years, but they finally got them out and for the first time for years, the doors are sliding perfectly. I have no hesitation in recommending Andrew. He is amazing and he is very friendly and efficient. Thanks for coming home to NZ Andrew....you are needed here. 100%"I found The Window Doctor in the Yellow pages, and gave Andrew a ring. Turns out he\'s recently returned from a stint in Australia, so I was rapt that he could come out immediately. When I showed him the broken catches we wanted replaced, he had all the gear in his van and he replaced everything straight away, and gave us some great tips to stop it happening again! He even fixed a sliding door that we\'d been told couldn\'t be fixed.
I was so impressed that I asked him to look at a really… tricky window problem that another company had told us was \"unfixable.\" The parts needed were no longer being manufactured, but Andrew tracked down a 2nd hand part, and, when it turned out it had been pressed, and wasn\'t able to be taken apart, took it to an engineer to get it unpressed. He kept me informed by phone every step of the way. The upstairs concertina sliding windows that we\'ve not been able to use for 4 years, are now working brilliantly!
