"Versatile Garages Springs Rd branch in Christchurch knocked down our garage in Sept 2014. Apart from not disclosing information to council on the original this project went from bad to worse. Fortunately we had the blessing from EQR to ban them from site as of today and EQR will appoint a qaulified team to build our new garage. Be warned!! "

"On the 9th December 2013 I paid my deposit to versatile garage.
On the 4th of March 2014 I paid for the city council permit.
On the 10th of March 2014 I received a letter from the council to test the manhole.
On the 25th of March (2weeks later) I received a letter from versatile garage making excuses about why they were taking so long.
6 weeks after the city council letter a crew showed up to test the manhole, when I asked why so long with the delay the versatile crew told me it’s in the hands of the city council and there’s nothing they can do. When they did the concrete floor they did not put in a concrete ramp so the garage would be useless because I could not get my cars in. The trucks were backed up to the edge of my driveway cracking the concrete leaving cracks in my driveway and when I informed versatile of this problem they denied it and said it was already like that when they got there and it’s not there builders fault FIX IT YOURESELF!. 15th August 2014 the final bill was sent out to me. 16th August 2014 the versatile plumber came to do the downpipes for the drainage which sticks over the fence and drains out into my neighbour’s back yard!!!!! 22nd August 2014 the city council shows up to do a final inspection. 25th August 2014 I receive a letter from building consultants asking for a engineers cert for a code of compliance cert. when I asked versatile for a code of compliance cert they told me it was not part of the contract and that the bill has to be paid 7 days after it is sent out. 20th September 2014 I finally received my keys for the garage while still waiting for my code of compliance cert. Versatile has lost customer relations, once you sign they treat you like **** they were a nightmare to deal with and I have never been treated so unfairly.

"Comedy of errors. Garage not usable for 3 months after target completion date. This made the move into our new home very stressful. Causes, bullders between jobs, wrong materials supplied, poor planning with plumbing where council re-inspections required for costly alterations. Contractors somewhat careless i.e slip dangers left on site, house power cut off (freezer), property damage i.e plants, driveway when diggers brought on site (we had used a costly concrete pump for slab to avoid this) , minor defects in construction which could have been remedied by a check of their work by " site manager" ( we had to tell them) i.e structural timbers with nail gun nails missing timber joins, broken windows, paint scratches. Communication poor costing us vehicle storage/ pet care while we waited for trades to "appear", very inconvienient, as frosty winter months pass by .. With final payment done and using garage, are told the slab requires to be concrete cut. Still waiting for tool promo supply. Dissapointing."

"This Firm (Hamilton branch) need serious lessons on customer service. They "lost" our payment and it wasn't until we enquired as to our garage whereabouts that they realised they had our money somewhere in their system.
That meant the garage hadn't even hit manufacture stage 3 weeks later.
We had to cancel our transport twice, as the date we were re-advised came and went and still no garage. I was promised reimbursement of transport costs as compensation, and am just being fobbed off even though Peter Mackay promised this. We do actually like our garage - our own Contractor did a brilliant job, it's just a shame Versatile can't back up a good product with customer service.
