We require a quote for a new fence to 3 sides of our house. We have put together the attached 3D images from a sketch-up model (we can supply the sketchup model if that helps.)
Overall lengths are as follows: (TBC on site)
Front fence: approx 12m with a 2m portion by the driveway at 45 degrees
Side fence: approx 30m
Rear fence: approx 15m
Front fence is 1200 high - Masonry with portion of timber paling
Rear fence - 1800 high fairly standard timber paling
Side fence. Mix of the above two.
Sizes of the various elements (eg - palings) are indicative - the fencing contractor should confirm the appropriate sizes.
Please include in your quote typical details (identifying the proposed footing, reinforcing, solid fill (if any)) for:
- the 150 series 400 high
- the 200 series 1200 high
- the 200 series 1800 high masonry portions.
The front fence is 1200 high - stack bond (note: the images show standard bond - but we require stack bond) - 190 series masonry pillars (and 45 degree portion) - with a 50mm thick capping stone on top - clear finish. In between the pillars is a 400 high 150 series masonry wall - coloured plaster finish - with clear finish Vitex vertical palings above (19x90 at 190 crs - 800 high). I have drawn these fixed to 30x50 GMS RHS railings.(you may have a better idea for fixing) that are set into the masonry below. The blockwork surface image on the attached images is to scale - so you can count the length of the pillars. There will need to be a letter box set into the blockwork. We will source the number “9”. We have sourced a 90x19 Vitex decking from South Pacific Woods that has no grooves - and that we would like to use for these palings.
The side fence is about 30m. First 15m is the same detail as the front fence (masonry pillars with masonry and palings between. The second portion of paling slopes up to a 1800 high, 1600 long 190 series masonry wall. This 1800 high portion could need a 400x400 pillar for support? From there on the fence is 1800 high timber post and vertical slats - same detail as the rear fence.
The rear fence is approx 15m long and 1800 high. It consists of 90x90 posts at 1500 crs. 300 wide concrete mowing strip. 6 x 90x45 rails (2 chamfered edges). Two rails at ground level. And, say, 20x150 palings at 155 crs. Palings are on the same side as the posts - to give the effect as per the images with the rails expressed on our side of the fence.
The posts, rails and palings of the rear fence (and half the side fence) will be treated pine. We will stain them ourselves - so just raw finish.
The side fence is on a right-of-way driveway - and there are services running along adjacent to the fence - so care will need to be taken to avoid damaging the services.
Approx 7m of the rear fence is very close to the neighbours garage - so those panels will need to be assembled on the ground before lifting / fixing in place.
We will do the demolition of the existing fence.
Tenderers are welcome to come and view the property.
I estimate that there is 90 cubic meters to be shifted (that’s 90 cubes before excavating). Access is reasonably straightforward, a small wall would need to be knocked down.
It was done about 6 years ago and has a Peter Fell glaze seal on it which makes it smooth and slippery, which is quite treacherous when wet.
I’m based in Pakuranga.
If you need to come and view it that can be arranged :) .
Also we want a water tank put in and need a pipe running from the lower ground pipe to the water tank and need the pipes under the dirt as the water tank is away from the house....
