Carpentry work. Rotten barge board and a few rotten weatherboards

I've got a rotten barge board. it needs to be taken off and see what damage is behind.

Also look to see what has caused it. may be a roof problem or just old age (60 years).

I also have a few weather boards at another part of the house that need to be replaced. These are vertical (see photo). Mark
