"Affordable painting co has always prided itself on our reputation in the industry, we aim to do the best possible job to the highest standard for our customer as reflected in our ratings on this site. However, in this case the brief, as requested by your wife, was to make this home presentable enough to put on the market to sell within a tight budget. As we pointed out to your wife at the time, it wasn’t our preferred option to paint over the walls in the condition they were in, and that ideally, they should be gib stopped to give the best possible finish. We agreed to gap fill any holes, and paint. The job was done to the specifications requested, and the invoice was paid in full upon completion. As we had never met Nick from the start of this project up until and including payment, we were unaware that he wanted an ‘as new’ finish. We would have been more than happy to oblique with this but obviously it would have been reflected in the price, and your wife was very clear when we discussed this option that she did not want to spend the money. In response to some of your remarks the dust that was on the deck washed off in the rain. We did an extra 6 hours (at no charge) to sort out any areas of concern, and David did come and inspect the work. At the end of the day, we have to follow the instructions of the client and do our best within the brief given, and this is what we did in this instance. Our aim is always for the customer to be happy at the end of the job and we are always open to discuss any issues that you are not happy with. Hence it was disappointing to see a poor rating posted. This is not what APC stands for! "
