With the heavy rain recently the clay has slumped / collapsed in some areas and blocked any drainage and as a result the water has poured into the half basement.
What we need to do is to make sure this doesnt happen again! So, our thoughts are that we need to:
1. Make sure the drainage works
2. Make sure the clay does not collapse again.
The wall extends 6.2m from the external to a right angle towards the front at 2.2m and a small nother right corner and 1.3m wall. We have put some tarpaulins over the bank to (hopefully) prevent further damage - although this did not work and there was more slipping! I have attached some photos to hopefully assist - the distance from the bottom of the clay "bank" to the house wall is c 400-500mm.
