95%"The work involved stabilising a wharf structure which had been severely impacted by cyclone Gabrielle. Beams had been nearly shunted off supporting piers, decking ripped off beams and the wharf was closed to prevent use. Engineering input to get the wharf back to a reusable state was agreed and nearly every pier had work undertaken on it. A hangging scafffold was erected at each pier location and beams jacked up , repositioned and secured. Additionally, new securing blocks were introduced and… bolted in place. Work to the associated sea wall and road above was also completed.
The contractor had the work well planned and ensured H&S aspects were undertaken appropriately, with harnessing and careful planning to ensure safety was paramount. 100%"We noticed our brick chimney was leaning at a strange angle just before Christmas and a gap had appeared between it and the weatherboards..on inspection we found the gate across the side of our property was holding it up , and the guttering around it had been ripped from the facia boards.
I immediately went on the website for a builder and found Historic building specialist ..I rang Craig told him the predicament and he said he would ring me when he had a slot and pop around and have a look.… Sure enough to his word I got the call and he called to the house after hours and a no doubt busy day to assess the damage and give me some options. Being a high risk safety priority Craig had his quote for the removal and reinstatement of weatherboards along with replacing area of roof and making it completely weatherproof.
A couple of weeks later Craig and his amazing crew turned up on the Monday, discussed his work safety program and began dismantling the chimney.. by the Tuesday it was down to a safe level , much to thr relief of myself and the neighbor who would have had severe damage to their property had it fallen over completely.
Craig kept me in the loop all through dismantling and the reclad etc , even going the extra mile and replacing some rotted timber along the way, which was outside the original quote.
We were so impressed with these fellas ,and ,to top it off his invoice was under the original..wow .

Historic Building Specialists Ltd is a small family company of 4 that make sure the client gets what they are looking for and also prides themselves on their quality finishing work . I have been in the heritage building trade for 30 years .I started out with my father when i was 15 in building and mainly on old buildings working with heritage architects and with historic places trust. We work on the islands around the gulf and travel all over when needed .We work on residential and commercial buildings old and new. also working on spooling concrete and repairs on tunnels around Auckland. also working on old churches and buildings in Auckland .
