"As a builder our company have used Jag Kitchens many times as they offer a great product and excellent value for money. They are very pleasant and efficient to deal with and the product arrives on time. Their installation service is great and is followed up with a 'final clean' - fantastic !"

"Our kitchen was rebuilt along with a new floor in it and our family room so only part of the renovation was the kitchen. The Tradies that Jag gave us contacts for proved to be no good but the Electrician was and he gave us the names of people that he knew and had used in the past. Without that we would have been in trouble. The kitchen fitters that Jag used were excellent."

"Final note: Jag did come to the party at the end of the day and resolved, as best they could, the many problems. Sincere thanks to their owner, Malcolm. I think my case was atypical of the Jag product, but hey, problems do happen and Malcolm was a decent person to work with in resolving those problems. Thank you, Malcolm. The kitchen is lovely and now being enjoyed after all our hard work. First note: Jag sadly has not lived up to its contract for my expensive traditional kitchen. The final straw was today - the pantry kitchen drawers can\'t be opened because they crash into the fridge. A design fault. Just what you don\'t need while unpacking after months of renovations. There have been numerous other issues and poor communication problems but this failed design was unbearable after months of waiting. Neal and Kent have been very helpful. Their MD also tried to help. See final note above for the right outcome and appreciation in fixing the problems. C Wade, Remuera."

"Caroline from Jag kitchens designed my kitchen and laundry space using 3D models with an excellent outcome. After 3 years it still looks brand new with little wear, and we do cook most nights! The installation went well and I was incredibly pleased with the outcome. Would certainly recommend. "

"JAG have a great showroom and present very well. I chose them because I wanted a well-made product with minimal fuss and they assured me they could provide that. I had a basic design in mind but needed help to fill in the gaps and I have no 2-D spatial awareness, so was keen on their 3-D design (note, it turns out the 3-D is only for the outside of the kitchen, not the shelving set up). I ordered a very small and simple galley kitchen from them. It took 3 goes to get all the pieces for the downdraft, 2 goes to get all the pieces for the tap. The kitchen turned up hours after i was expecting it and only after several phone calls to find out what was happening - my impression is that the show room, factory and delivery people communicate at random. There is no checking on the part of the show room that all is proceeding according to plan. The cupboard were initially built the wrong size so that when it was installed there was part of a wall inside one of them. The installer thought this would be fine if he cut the door down and we filled the very odd space with a wine rack - the cupboard had already been cut down to wrap around the wall! However I prefer my walls on the outsides of cupboards. I have an old house and it turns out there's not much straight in it - something I hadn't thought about (this is my first renovation) The cupboards were left with a gap between them and the side walls. Luckily they didn't remove their scrap and my builder was able to finish it off properly. The cupboards came without the under cupboard lights initially. When they came back the right size, the installer didn't fit the wiring in the channels as expected and instead drilled holes to bring the wiring forward saying my electrician could wire the lights. The initial excuse was that he was here by himself, but I was here - there were definitely 2 of them. Then I was told that it was no longer the way lights were installed. The lights were eventually wired properly but only after quite a bit of fuss - I had to ring quite a few other stores to determine that it was in fact the industry standard and that wiring through external ducting was not the new way of doing things as JAG were trying to tell me it was. The holes where the wiring was brought through are filled with no more gaps and have paper covers over the top - again, a small thing, but I had hoped for a kitchen without unnecessary holes and repairs. The bench was trimmed to size on site so the edges don't match as well as they could - a minor thing again but it annoys me every time I see it - which is all the time as it's right next to the stove. The handle for the tap bangs against the glass splashback - the designer thinks this is ok as her one at home does it too. I would have chosen a different tap had I known it would do that. There's no backing board provided for behind the fridge, which isn't such a big deal, but when we went to put something there, we found that the boards for the sides of the fridge aren't the same size so one does not fit right back to the wall. The kitchen was quite shop soiled when it arrived with grease and pencil marks, not unexpectedly, and they provide a valet service as a 'surprise extra'. This gives you the choice of either cleaning the kitchen your self so you can get on with things or waiting another few days. I didn't find out about it until I'd already cleaned half the kitchen, so it didn't matter much. All in all this was a very stressful, expensive exercise for a less than optimal product and while I accept that mistakes can happen, there wasn't a single element of this kitchen that was without error and delay - it's a very simple kitchen - it only has a downdraft, lights, sink and cupboards. They credited me the price of the tap to compensate for 'delays'. This works out at a 3% credit. They were also completely disinterested in hearing my concerns. There is no doubt this is a much better kitchen than the makeshift one I had, but their poor customer service has definitely dimmed the excitement. I wouldn't use JAG again and I certainly wouldn't recommend them to another novice renovator. Interestingly, my father is putting in a kitchen at the moment (not through JAG) and the designer has gone on site to measure and produce a plan rather than coming up with a plan in the showroom only based on site measurements. If I ever get up the courage to do a kitchen again, I would definitely look for someone who did this."
