"Garry and his team are fantastic. we first had them hear, some time ago, to re roof (because no roofer would touch it). we have had them back and are just completing a reno. Witch included some reclading and adding 2 rooms, a laundry (under the house) and replace of external deck and stairs to our house. all went without drama over a year and a half, the only delays were because of the weather and there workmanship / attention to detail is high end for a small team. all the additional… tradies that he recommends ( sparky, plumer, drainlayer, painter and tiler all on this job ) have also been fantastic. his team have also been grate with our dog, where if they go through a closed door thay re close it and spear a second for a pat. :-)"

"When Garry first came to our home to discuss our ideal home aspirations (and how we thought we could achieve them) he listened attentively. As well as a great builder Garry is also very creative and he came up with fantastic ideas that were so much better than we could have imagined possible. Garry and his team transformed our home - achieving everything (and more) we had hoped for. They turned a spare internal garage into a bedroom, (taking great care with aesthetics - you’d never know it… was previously a garage) built a new bathroom, hallway, TV area, made brilliant changes to existing infrastructure as required - enhancing the look as a byproduct, double glazed the entire house - windows and doors - and made significant improvements to our deck. We are absolutely thrilled with the end result and highly recommend Garry and his team for their building expertise, quality of building, attention to detail, creativity and professionalism."

"Garry and his team did a major re-clad and renovation for our home. Garry and his team were working on our home for around a year. The bulk of the work consisted of relining the exterior with timber weather boards and replacing all the old aluminum windows with new double glazed windows. There was also a couple of repairs to our leaking roof as well as rebuilding a large 2nd floor balcony and bedroom renovation with new bathroom installed too.
Garry's team were fantastic, we could always set… our watches by the arrival of him and his team in the morning. Garry was excellent at keeping us informed where we were at various stages of the build and keeping us updated as to costs and sticking to the budget. His team were extremely polite and friendly and felt like part of the family by the end of the job. Garry and the team are skilled and professional tradesman with a can do attitude and plenty of good ideas for getting around tricky problems (for instance sorting our flat-roof leak). I have no hesitation in recommending them to anybody with building requirements.

We were extremely pleased with the final result and couldn't be happier. I know the money we invested in our home has been more than recompensed with the work Garry and his team have done.

Garry has extremely high standards and this was replicated by the plumbers, electrician and painters as well."

"We used Lead Builders to do some major renovations at our work premises. Garry and his team were very professional and were always willing to do what was needed to get the job done. Garry also provided us with some suggestions to the design work which was very helpful. "If you want a job done properly, Lead Builders is the company for you. They are skilled and professional builders who are open, honest and transparent in how they manage a job. They let you know in advance what the job will cost, and when they can do it. In thge past year, I have used Lead Builders to refurbish a 3-unit block of flats in Upper Hutt and a residential seafront property in Plimmerton. Each time, they provided me with a detailed quote for the work, and came in on budget, on time,… every time. I would recommend Garry and his team without reservation. I will definitely be using them again for any future work I need to be done."

"We knew there were problems with our house, but had not been confident in any of the advice we were getting. We contacted Lead Builders because of a good rating on NoCowboys, initially to investigate a small issue. However, as Garry investigated it became clear that the problems were much wider than we had supposed.
We became convinced that he was right for us when he said, fairly early, that he could advise us how to do a minimal fix for the apparent problems but that he would not do the work… because he did not want his name on anything that was not a proper job. In the end, a "proper job" turned out to be a full re-clad and a new roof according to an architect's design.

As the work progressed, it was clear that Garry's analysis had been correct - every problem that he had identified turned out to be real when the skin was removed to give a good look. There were no real surprises, either; he had identified everything important that needed fixing.

Garry's approach was always meticulous, and he employs people with the same attitude. The on-site foreman, Mike, is a perfectionist who makes sure that everything is correct and done as well as it can be. We sometimes listened in on discussions between Garry and Mike about how to deal with some problem, and it was obvious that both of them thought through ideas carefully to ensure that the solution would work and was the best solution possible.

Beyond the essential work, we accepted many suggestions from Garry and Mike for improving the house while we had the opportunity (double glazing, improved insulation, a new fireplace, LED lighting). In the end, we could not afford everything that they suggested, but after being back in the house for a while we do not regret doing anything that they suggested.

Both Garry and Mike are very good at communicating with clients, and respectful of the clients and the neighbours. We found Mike extremely patient in showing us what was being done and discussing what would happen next. They also ensured that neighbours were not inconvenienced (we have a shared driveway) and arranged the work so that we were able to move back in earlier than would have been most convenient for the builders, and worked around us for several weeks.

If you want somebody who will do a cheap quick fix before you flick the house on, Lead Builders are not the right people for you. But if, like us, you intend to live with the results, then you will be very satisfied with them. Would we hire them again? Certainly: as soon as the consent comes through, Garry and Mike will be starting a re-clad on our daughter's house."

"Gary has just finished helping me with some fairly extensive remodeling of my bathroom.
This is the second time that Gary has done some work for me, and both times I have been very happy with his work.
Gary was very good in giving suggestions and advice as well as adjusting to my changing requirements.
He turned up on time, and did the work at the quoted price. I plan to use Gary for other projects in the future.

"I should have written this review last year but haven't had the chance until now.
Gary did some work for me early 2013 replacing some rotten timber around a window. I was very happy with the work for the following reasons;
* Gary arranged a time and turned up at that time. He also went out of his way to fit in with my schedule.
* Gary quoted for the work and completed the work when he said he would and at the quoted price.
* I thought the standard of work was very high, and… wouldn't hesitate to us Gary again for further building work.

"Garry was introduced to us by a third party who were working on our house. We found Garry very thorough, helpful, he unofficially took on the project management role which was a big help to us, organising the other sub contractors.
He was very reliable, and everything he said he would do, he did, a \"thinking builder\". He had full access to our house and he was very trustworthy and I would thoroughly recommend Garry and his team and would not hesitate to use them again… ourselves."
