"I went into the shop to see if they can provide what I need. I wanted an outdoor speaker played through Spotify. It was actually an easy task. They provided me a long process and quote for a costly installation simply because they don't sell sonos amp which can solve the whole problem.

When you go in their shop along dominion road, you will notice their stock is extremely dated. The salesman seems very .. Not trust worthy.

Anyways I just travel down the road to AV world and they did a great job in solving what I need."

"I was told about paul money and the great bargains they had in store,I travelled to auckland from taupo to experience these great bargains.I was looking to upgrade existing stereo as it was very old and was looking forward to seeing their store.I went in to albany store under recommendation. On arrival i was greated by this frowning white person and then he turned around and had a argument with a chineese dude in store infront of cusmtomers and destroyed my mood on entering this store. They seemed more into arguing with eachother than serving this lady from toupo, it was like i wasnt even there. They walked away and left me standing in the store scratching my head.I left the store gutted!! I had gone all that way to spend good money, was totally disapointed and drove home, never to return. p.s I hope for their businesses sake that their shop manner has improved, they lost a customer"

"I shopped at paul money hifi for my dream sound system and it turned out to be my worst nightmare. The sales person misled me into buying a product that was mismatched and when i brought the system home it was of very poor quality.I had placed all my trust into this compay that they supply me with a great sound system for my money as i was willing to spend what ever it took.I had initially spent over $6000.When i took my concerns to paul money i was verbally abused and accused of changing my mind, I exuasted all avenues with these people just to get thier help.Because of thier unwillingness to help i took them to the disputes tribunal several times. The first time i took them to the disputes tribunal was because the sales person misled me into buying a amplifier that was suppose to have a phono module factory inbuilt in the amplifier but found out when i took the system home that the phono module was \'OPTIONAL\'.The disputes tribunal ordered paul money to install the phono module in the amplifier,Since then we started having problem with the quality of sound which was very poor and it affected the sound of the system dramatically so had to go back and as the store for help again.Since i could not get help from them and i could not pin point the location of the fault. I took them to court again.Because the amplifier just came out from servicing i thought thier would be no possibility of the amplifier being faulty.I have a great interst in sound systems and a fair bit of basic knowledge and i knew thier was somrthing not sounding right with my sound system.Because i could not pin point the problem at that stage and had no help from paul money hifi i thought it must be the speakers being faulty so i took them to the disputes tribunal again regarding the speakers.Again paul money was ordered to locate the problem. However that did not happen but me thinking the speakers was the problem john tom asked for $1500 to replace the speakers from the enegy rc70 floorstanding for psb synchrony 1 bookshelf speakers.I could not handle spending such an amount of money for a faulty sound system so i traded for the psb synchrony bookshelf speakers. After the exchange the psb sounded very distoted when connected to my sound system. Finally john agreed that it was a intermitant problem and after alot of convincing he finally agreed to replace the amplifier with the same model i currently had with a new one. When he replaced the amplifier with the new one he refused to return the phono module ordered by the courts. We finally got sick of johns unwillingness to help and disrespecting his customers we didnt go back to court to fight for the phono module.Inbetween this saga i had spent an additional $6500 elsewhere to get the quality i thought i had initially bought.Thier are several specialist hifi stores in auckland that give great after sale service not just good service while selling the equipment,Im from hawkesbay, move to auckland 2 years ago.I read alot about how they present themselves and they consider themselves to be profession specialists but i have every other reason to believe otherwise.I will see to it i recommened all my friends and family not to shop at paul money hifi"

"I was able to audition some stereo gear from this company last year. The boxes looked very badly treated but was able to take the pieces for a home demo in them. On unboxing we noticed strange notes and markings in the boxes. What I found suggested these units were not \'straight\' units, so I did some investigation. Turned out that the units I was demoing were REPAIRED units from a previous retailer! All I had to do is contact the importer direct and track the serial numbers on the products. I was told by John they were just \'DISPLAY\' items and not used!! Very misleading and dishonest, I purchased elswhere needless to say. I would caution any prospective customer to be very careful when dealing with this business. If anyone has purchased from them I\'d without a doubt do the very same investigation I did."
