100%"After extensive research into potential designers to help us create the kitchen of our dreams, as well as a laundry, we decided to go with Kitchens By Design (KBD) in Byron Avenue, Takapuna. We are so pleased we did as we now have a kitchen that is beyond our wildest dreams, from both an aesthetic and functional perspective. We absolutely love it! We also have a fantastic laundry that cleverly maximises the limited space.

I am absolutely delighted with their workmanship and the look of the deck. It has been greatly admired by all my visitors too.
Paul was a great communicator and showed the utmost professionalism as well as admirable patience as I changed my mind a few times during the building project.
I valued the excellent advice Paul gave as… the project took unexpected twists and turns as the dreadful condition of the existing deck was revealed.

This involved the demolition of walls and matching some of the newly exposed ceiling with the existing 40 year old ceiling which was sand blasted Douglas fir. 100%"We found Paul through No More Cowboys website as we were looking for a local builder who was rated well by his customers.
Paul was excellent throughout the whole process. He explained everything in 'non-builder English' and communicated well throughout the duration of the job.
We had water penetration due to old cantilevered decks. Paul has fixed the problem for us permanently and properly. He is not a quick fix type of guy preferring to do the job the right way to get the right result… for his customers. Having said this we felt he was also competitively priced.

100%"Our house was built in 1970\'s and we bought it in 1995. In 1995 we made extensive alterations to the interior. At various periods later we made further alterations to the house by extending the deck area and upgrading the rumpus room. In 2011 we made major renovations to the exterior including a full cedar recladding, installing pink batts, new double glazed windows and ranchslider doors.
PAUL TROAKE was recommended to me in 1995 and we have employed him on all of the work over the 16 years.… He is an excellent and fussy worker and an honest person who communicates very well during the entire construction process. Unexpected repairs only became apparent after the removal of existing fittings were taken out, but Laurie and Andy took up the challenge and very sympathetic restoration work was completed to a high standard.
During… the period of the work, there were interruptions on site due to electricity supply undergrounding which prevented access for periods, obliging the builders to work around this. However, work was completed in time for installation of the cabinetry and new appliances.
Paul liaised with the designer at Kitchens by Design, the cabinetmaker from Kitchen Link and the electrical and plumbing contractors, and the standard of finish was first class by all those involved in the work.
