"In the end we were happy with the outcome. The journey to get became stressful and unpleasant.
The design work was great. The installation was where it went pear shaped.
They installed the wrong sized sink, not the one we ordered. It took some battling to get the rectified. At one stage they were saying the ordered sink did not exist...after finding one on line myself they agreed to replace it.
The custom microwave cabinet was not fit for purpose as it had no venting. Once again after some battling that was replaced.

We were advised not to run the range hood ducting through the cupboards, rather run it along the top as the ducting wouldn't be visible. It was highly visible. Their solution was to charge $300 for a small 3 sided cover... after holding off paying the final bill magically a cover, made from off cuts magically appeared one the door step.

The two things not rectified are: the doors which are hung crookedly & a scratched door handle. I kind of gave up battling for those two smaller issues.

They were not a cheap option, but after seeing the initial design for an awkward kitchen we were confident they would be good. It is a shame the installation let them down.

    a. Mr Ashby was not the original purchaser of this kitchen so we never took any money from him.
    b. Yes the process to fix the problem with the gas struts took too long.
    c. The gas struts were still operational.
    d. We agreed from the outset to replace them (free of charge).
    e. The manufacturer of the cabinets was no longer in business, and the type of gas strut in K. Ashby's kitchen is no longer available. We had to source a replacement; eventually this was not possible so we arranged for the struts to be regassed (at no cost to Mr Ashby).

    f. The main reason for the delay: We are a small company with limited resources and Mr Ashby is located on the outskirts of Upper Hutt. Given that his doors were still operational we asked that we effect the repair when our installer was next in the area.

I am happy to discuss this customer's concerns.

"an absolute disgrace to deal with when it comes to warantee issues, clearly happy to take the money for the job but nothing further.

approached the owner mike lynch as my gas struts all died on my $25k kitchen which was still under a 5yr warantee.

constantly ignored my calls & emails or fobbed off with excuses such as:
"we dont use that name anymore, my installer lives too far away, i dont need to help"

then i was advised to replace parts myself?

only after 6 months of arguing i finally had to get NZ kitchen & bathroom assossiation involved, only then did Mike seem interested in resolving.

Would NEVER deal with this lot again & happy to tell anyone the same thing.

    "PrideX Kitchens Wellington
Thoroughly recommend Mike for a highly professional service. He listens to your requests and very helpful in making suggestions. We did a full kitchen renovation which went very smoothly and was installed two weeks ahead of schedule. Mike organised a builder to manage the electrical and plumbing work and everything went without a hitch.

A couple of minor problems with subcontractors’ workmanship were immediately rectified. There was never any dispute and Mike just got the guys back on the job to fix the problem.

I have no hesitation in recommending Mike for a stress-free kitchen renovation. The joinery is of high quality and also all the subcontractors who worked on the kitchen are really friendly and obliging. They make a neat team.

"An overall positive outcome and a wonderful kitchen. It was however a rather stressful process to get to this point. A health issue on our part caused delay in Pridex returning to site to fix an installation mistake that should never have occurred in the first place. Even the 'fix' job was a bit rough. However once we were dealing with the branch owner/manager the level and quality of service increased and although the job was substandard initially the overall outcome was positive."
