"Dave and his team removed a chimney over a range hood that was a danger. On replacing the floor where the hearth had been located, they found rot in the piles and exterior wall. They extended the time at the job to fix this. They explained the process to me, including how they added bracing to the floors, walls and piles; important for withstanding earthquakes. They also insulated the exterior walls. The finished product was fantastic. One of the team was a joiner who did a beautiful job of… replacing the matai floors.

Communication throughout was excellent, and the builders were happy to explain the tasks they were doing in a pleasant, friendly manner.

The site was cleaned and tidied at the end of the day and the final clean was superb.

Dave has a team of painters and plasterers, who do a great job of matching colours and materials. The finish is fantastic, worthy of this beautiful Grey Young character house. I have another job lined up for them now."

"Excellent quality of workmanship and very quick. Josh has obviously worked on many older houses before and was fully aware of the things to look out for.
Our work was mainly about replacing rotting timber in wallboards, steps and windows, plus gibbing out a downstairs area.
Their personal demeanor was also very good and they were polite and good communicators. Highly recommended."

"From the first contact with Dave everything ran smoothly. He came to quote when he said he would, he came by late on a Friday to assess some rot I found before the job started.
Throughout communication was prompt, and the guys that came to do the job were polite, efficient, reliable, and did a great job.
They took it upon themselves to fix small blemishes that weren't part of the job, but what they did hugely affected the overall outcome.
I'm a one trade person kind of guy, and Villa… Services is it."

"We wanted our chimney out as soon as possible after the last earthquake. It was a big job and there were two fireplaces to remove as well. Dave came to assess the job really quickly and his team started work the following week. The job was completed quickly, to a very high standard and came under budget! We had unique cornice work and he managed to match it. The tidy up was fantastic. "

"More than happy done with chimney removal. Dave's team were simply fantastic to deal with and did three things which were “out of the box” better than anyone else who looked at the job:
a) Dave picked up an (unrelated) small but essential repair for me and took care of it.
b) His team did a great job without causing any hassle or inconvenience to the neighbours (other companies took the easy route of wanting to push the scaffolding out over the neighbours path which would have meant… having to get permission etc, etc.

c) The price difference (and time to do the job) was fabulously better because his team are super experienced and they have their own safety-approved scaffolding. Other companies rely on hiring the scaffolding which you get the bill for. Not only did I save over $1500 hire fees but the job was done in half the time as a result of not having to organise for a 3rd party to come in.

I got quotes from others – experienced or not they seemed to be making a meal out of removing chimneys. I have a fabulous feature period ceiling and fireplace and I needed to have the very best people in town to bring the chimney down without risk. To have Villa Services on my side plus provide the best price and service just blew me away."

"Dave and his team have been amazing to work with. We purchased a new house and wanted the chimney taken out at short notice. He was responsive, managed the job to fit within our extremely tight time frames, and delivered a high quality outcome on time and to budget. The guys even worked weekends and public holidays to get the job done on time. "Dave knows villas! You can trust him with your precious home, as he considers each job individually and keeps you in the picture all the way with great communication. He is a pragmatic decision maker when required, trustworthy and reasonably priced. As a villa specialist, I imagine we will be seeing a lot him over the years, as we tackle each step in our renovation. Good with the old joke for the kiddies too! "
