"We asked Zena to clear a huge patch of fennel that over took our garden. Whatever weed killer was used, it killed it for 18 months but it’s returned as Zena said.
In the process one of her workers sprayed our 45 year old lemon tree which quickly died soon after. We are devastated because it had sentimental value. Zena claimed the tree was riddled with tree eating bugs etc. We didn’t see any or evidence of any. Given the tree was thriving until the day before, then died suddenly, I… disagree. They offered to replace it but we declined because of how the situation was dealt with. We alter every disappointed. Soon after, Zena discontinued the relationship claiming distance as the reason not to come to Island Bay."

"First time I ever used an arborist, but Phil and his nephew were absolutely top class, punctual, kind, friendly, and they did an awesome job removing some treet and cutting back others. They left the site neat and tidy, I was extremely impressed with them. Will most definitely use t hem again

I had trouble finding a reputable garden company and one that could provide a quote for the work I needed doing.
As soon as Zena phoned me she kept to her word - turning up when she said she would and providing a quote on that visit.
Her plant knowledge and suggestions were very much appreciated.
The arborists also arrived exactly at the time i was given and were very friendly and safety conscious which i appreciated as i arrived home with… several small children.

Zena brought the team around and introduced them and they just got on with the job, they were friendly, knowledgeable and happy to share pruning tips and info about the trees at my place. Zena is very knowleable about trees, shrubs, flowering plants and weeds. She has an excellent overall knowledge about gardening and maintaing gardens. If it weren't for her my garden would be a waste land.

Crew came out as scheduled, job was done quickly and professionally, and site left tidy - the crew had left by the time I noticed they trimmed the top and back of the front hedge, but not the front face of it - but possible that I hadn't communicated that clearly at the beginning."

"This group of knowledgable gardeners are worth their weight in gold. They assessed my garden through doing a complete walk through, were open and engaged and when they started work they were punctual, worked hard and left the gardens and surrounding areas in tip top state. They collected all the cuttings and binned them and offer a green waste takeaway as well. Their combined knowledge of gardens and trees is in excess of a hundred years and this is reflected in their care and approach to… gardening. I would recommend them to people who are wanting their gardens wrangled into good shape then maintaining that state of appearance."

"We had a large amount of tree work requiring an experienced arborist, as well a number of areas of well established/overgrown garden that needed to be completely cleared. Zena was right on time to review the work, gave lot's of suggestions on how to best approach what we wanted, and ultimately provided a very competitive quote. The team needed to make several visits to work through the various parts of the project. They were on time, faultless in their high work ethic, and very approachable… to discuss progress. They even took away some cut branches etc on the neighbour's property free of charge. As a family run business they provided a very competitive quote. "Zena arrived on time for the quote, to remove various trees from three sites. One site had three trees about 10m tall next to a fence and about 2m from the house. She pointed out one more tree that would become a problem and would be better removed.
We were out on the arranged day and returned to find all was done as agreed and the three sites cleared of all debris. There didn't seem to be any damage to the house and fence.
We are happy with Zena and her team's work and will invite them to… quote next time."

"The team did a fantastic job for us cutting back a row of large trees at the bottom of our section. They turned up on time and with a large team completed the job in 1/2 the estimated time. They were careful not to damage fencing, paths etc. and left the area nice and tidy when completed. We are are really pleased with the finished job which has exceeded our expectations. "Zena and her crew did a fantastic job, right from meeting on-site, plant selection and placement thru to implementation. Her guys completed a lot over the 2 days ( barrowed in 6 cubic metres of topsoil and the same of tree mulch, all of which had to come up the neighbours driveway).
