Concrete Link Ltd / Concreting Contractors

1. They well exceeded their quote.
2. They did not complete the job. The job was for 40sqm of concrete at a thickness of 150mm totaling 6 cubic meters of concrete.
3. When they came out to begin the prep work the owner of the company was drinking beer at 9.30am before he began digger work and he continued to drink beer throughout the day. I don't know if the other workers were… drinking or not but they left an empty 12 box and bottles here for me to clean up!

4. The rest of the prep work was not done to standard. The loose metal should have been compacted to prevent the concrete cracking at a later date. This was not done. This had led to varying thicknesses of concrete, 130mm at some places and up to 200mm in others. I was also told that there would be bars put in to attach the new concrete to the existing concrete. This was only done on a small portion of the concrete.

5. The guys who turned up to finish the prep work turned up when the concrete was due to arrive so there was not a lot of time to get the prep work done.

6. We live down a steep driveway and we were told that this wouldn't be a problem for a small concrete truck but that it may have to do more than one load at a slightly higher cost which was fine. However, a full sized concrete truck was used, got stuck and was blocking our driveway for over 24 hours preventing my husband from going to work and our kids from going to school.

7. We had asked for 40sqm of concrete to be laid. The area prepared for concrete was not even half this. When I questioned the worker he said he didn't have enough timber for the framing (likely due to not turning up until the concrete was here) and that they would be back to finish the rest at a later date.

8. After a period of time I inquired with the company owner as to when this job would be completed. My friendly email was met with an abusive response which included such comments as us being ungrateful and having a bad attitude amongst other things.

9. They refused to come out and finish the job. We calculated that only 3 cubic meters of concrete (and that was being generous with out measurements) had been laid however they were charging us for 5. When we tried to discuss this with them they again made more insulting comments including that we were condescending and hiding behind the keyboard.

10. The finish is poor, despite telling us they would match the concrete closely they have used two vastly different shades of concrete (one for the initial pour and the second for the repairs to the damages done which they had the nerve to charge us for). The concrete leaked through the timber framing as it was insufficient for the job and we now have to hire a concrete cutter to neaten up the edges.

11. Our experience with this company has been appalling. We decided to use their company under the assumption that they were professionals who would provide a professional service. However, we were very wrong!. Our dealings with this company showed a complete lack of integrity on their part and an inability to provide a service that remotely resembles professionalism. We could never in good conscious recommend this company to anyone."
