"I'll never use this business again!!!
My hot water cylinder drain line was leaking water. It supposed a small job to replace valves on hot water cylinder. A professional plumber should prepare well and should come to the site just once can quickly fix the problem.
He came on site for 1 hour 45 minutes but did not finish the job. He second time came on the site for 45 minutes.
It’s not a professional way of doing a job without preparing and need to come twice. The worst part is charging… me 5 hours on labour and total cost is $1261.78 just for replacing valves. I am very shocked at how much we were charged.

Stay away!!!"

"Plumber arrived to fix my hot water cylinder, after 10 minutes realised it was an electrical fault and called in an electrician. He came that evening and replaced a broken component in 10 minutes. Seemed alright until I received a bill for over $300! Call out fees and 1 hour of labour charged for the plumber that did nothing, and a huge electrician bill that wasn't explained.
Poor communication all round, no explanation of any costs in person or on their website, I'll never be using this… business again."

"We have used this company for at least 10 years for two of our properties. They have been good up to now but they seem to have lost the plot. This week we asked them for urgent help to fix or replace a gas califont as our family with 2 toddlers had no hot water. Earlier, while they were attending to plumbing and gas fitting in our renovation work, to several thousand dollars, we had thought the califont was dodgy and asked them to check it. They said it was fine. It broke down a month later.… After our urgent request they said they would come the next day. We waited home all day and no-one turned up. We phoned up and begged for help as a long standing client. They phoned next day (on another of our numbers that was different from the one normally used) and said they would be there soon. Gas fitter turned up and got his van badly stuck in the driveway (they had been going down there for at least 10 years and knew the deal). He then said he couldnt do it without getting another guy (he'd known what was needed) and would be back next morning. He didnt turn up. The office didnt know what was going on and then told me he was sick and the manager that I usually deal with was away on holiday for 2 weeks. The employee that finally turned up said he was supposed to be on holiday. He was apparently sick the next day and didnt turn up as he said he would.

It has all been extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to a long standing customer.

We always pay our accounts on time but recently one invoice appeared to have been overlooked as it was never received. We got a terse reminder that we hadnt paid it, with no pleasant formalities that a good business would normally provide.. To us that is culturally insulting as we have never had an outstanding account, and clearly there must have been a misunderstanding. We've had over 40 years experience in the construction industry and kiwis rarely used to behave like that. DKP normally had empathetic and helpful admin.

So we got another gas fitter and he turned up on time and helped us out with a temporary supply, within an hour. Quix also pledged to be there at a specific time tomorrow.

DKP clearly now have a staffing issue and I wonder if its coincidental that they seem to disappear when the boss goes on holiday. The boss needs a shake up too if this is the case.

We will NEVER use them again and recommend they are avoided. Now I see they are not registered. Im not surprised."

"I thought the plumber and the company were not professional in their approach. They recorded my job as a toilet cistern overflow when it was a sewage overflow. The plumber immediately said I need a new ball****in the cistern when in fact it's working perfectly. I explained that it was sewage overflowing out of the vent in the garden. He used a plunger to free a blockage in the vent just below ground level and hosed it out. He could see fine tree roots in the vent pipe just below ground level,… obviously the cause of the blockage, but he did nothing to trim or remove them. I rang his boss to see if this was normal. The boss said you need a big root cutter/ hydrojet machine on a trailer to get rid of roots and there could be more roots further down. I believe that the plumber should have trimmed the roots that were visible in the vent pipe. It doesn't seem right that I now have to do it myself after paying $115."

"rang to get a quote on a shower install. Couldn't get a date or time from the receptionist so spoke to the boss. Great at least a day set along with before lunch so stayed home to wait for the workman. Rang at 12 to ask how much longer only to find they had mixed our job with another so they wouldn't be out today! Told them not to bother."

"Happy with work carried out, response times and pricing. A small leak detected after contractor had left but this was quickly remedied without fuss the following day. I would use this company again."

"Disccussed with plumber problem and he knew what was needed to be done. Came out to job site - charged $20 call out fee, after 5 min discovered he didn't have the part in his van advised he would come back later or next day - got charged $70 for labour.
Left messages on phone asking when he was coming back - no response. Next day plumber came back with part and fixed problem. Got charge another $20 call out fee and another $70 for labour + parts. Complained but about being charged $70 for… nothing for the first day but would not exempt charge from invoice. Breach of Fair Trading act- should be investigated by Commerce Commission"

"House flooded because of these cowboys, had a simple overflow hotwater problem they 1. changed extra parts that didnt need changing 2. fitted parts unprofessionally. End result there plumbing work caused a massive leak and water damage to my house. The manager is not interested at all. Keep these people away from your house."
