Steve gave me a call after I left a message on the webform.
I stated I wanted the hedges and a single tree trimmed to 2m.
He stated that he might not be able to do that due to safety concerns.
I told him to talk to my wife about booking in a time to view and to quote.
She reiterated that the hedge height was the most important and he went onsite and quoted $250 for a "tidyup".
When my wife contacted him again (clarifying the topping… again since the quote said tidyup), he said he would look to again see if he could do it.
My wife said to contact us as my mother in law does not speak English.
He went onsite and trimmed the sides of the hedges, mowed the lawn (destroying a bed of chives that was at one end of the lawn) and decapitated all of the veges growing between the shrubs.
My mother in law was not happy about the veges but could not communicate with him so she called my wife.
My wife then spoke to him and asked him about the hedge height. He said he could not do this and recommended Greenacres.
He completed his trimming and then sent us a $200 bill.
He was not happy to be questioned about his work and lied about giving me a phone call and us stating that we had repeatedly stressed the hedge topping as the most important task.
He then threatened to take the clippings and spread them all back on the lawn if I did not pay the $150 I was prepared to pay (I thought we were being generous at that) immediately.
We will never use this very dishonest person again and recommend others to stay away."
