Ben gave ideas on troubleshooting. With the results of the initial investigation, he gave a detailed plan to fix the wall. Also suggested things that I can consider to improve the condition of the house while scaffold was up.

The work was carried out and completed on time in Aug, even with the improvements. Heatpump was back in service on the 3rd day after it was disconnected, just like John… said.

It was clear communication from Ben and John. I was away at work most of the time, and didn't have to worry about the repair, with Ben project managing and his team carrying out the work.

Now not only the wall is repaired (re-cladded), it has been upgraded with new double-glazed windows, new insulation etc. The house exterior also painted - thanks to Ben who suggested to repaint the exterior of the whole house while scaffold was up, and found good painters who did a tidy job. The re-painting was also kind of due, as the last painting might have been done 11-12 years ago.

During the course of the project we had the lads do some other repair work around the home and this wasn't and issue with John scoping it well and talking about potential risks before commencing work.

Throughout the work, the lads on site were tidy and professional and were… able to work around my partner and two young boys.

Our home sits close to the street, the lounge lacked privacy despite the garden and trees.

It was sugested that we take out the window and insert sliding doors out onto a new deck with appropriate balistrade and a new boundary fence.

We approached John of Hannas Construction for ideas .

John came up with a brilliant design working around existing… trees. His crew completed the decking, replaced the windows with sliding door, built the fence, removed a garage window replaced and remodeled the steps leading to front door enhancing the entrance, and created a stunning boardwalk at the gate entrance to side of the house.

All the carpentary, landscaping, and his subcontractors work have been completed to a very high standard, a high quality finish and an eye to detail.

The entrance to our home is much enhanced, our lounge is now private with a wonderful deck reaching out under the trees

For the first job we asked John to replace rotten weather boards around the… house. On the first day the boys found a nail through the water supply which had rotted a few of the studs. They fixed the problem on the same day and moved on. When repairing the back wall, they found that the bottom plate had completely disintegrated due to contact with ground moisture and the wall compromised. Not a problem, they rebuilt the wall (installing insulation and tidying up the plumbing at the same time). The boys worked hard getting the job completed just in time for the winter weather.

The second job we asked John to do was to rebuild our retaining wall that failed during the winter storms. Upon requesting John's services his foreman was onsite measuring up the site at 6am the next day. These guys don't hang around. John did a fantastic job of dealing with an outsourced insurance company who were trying to cut corners. We were very impressed with both the speed at which the wall went up and quality of the workmanship.

Whilst redecorating one of the rooms we found that the southern corner of the house was letting in water and corner studs had been compromised. The boys had replaced corner studs and double flashed the corner within half a day. Did I mention these boys don’t hang around?
