David arrived within the hour, got everything going again and also serviced the door and its components. The door is lined with insulation which was starting to flop outwards. David showed us how to secure the insulation with a product he has and even cut a master for my husband to use when cutting the lengths. Shannon turned up on our doorstep approximately 1 hour later (who does that these days). He fixed the broken spring, replaced the ends - all within about 1 1/2 hours!!!

He booked us in straight away for the next day, rang ahead with his eta which was right about the time he had said the day before, so very reliable. I’ve made contact with David in the morning, he’s arrived on site at 1:00pm on time as he said. He accessed the garage door then suggested because it’s a aluminum lighter door that doesn’t need to install a heavy motor as we’ve discussed over the phone, therefore it’s a cheaper option to install a slightly smaller motor, The job has been completed within an hour and left the… site neat and tidy. He did his best to get our door opener working again, but the broken spring had overloaded the door motor which was over 14 years old very noisy and beyond repair. About us
Hibiscus Garage Doors Ltd is a locally based business and has been serving the North Shore/Rodney area for over 30 years.
Owned and operated by David Epstein, we offer complete garage door service, repair and new installation services. We repair, where possible and replace motors, program new remotes, replace panels. When springs have snapped we replace these too.
What we do
We supply and install new garage doors and openers, and offer full repairs and maintenance of existing doors and openers.
We are approved Insurance Company Repairers so we can liaise with your insurance company over any damaged door repairs or replacement.
We do free measure and quotes locally.
We can supply any type of door you require, made to measure and can be colour co-ordinated with most decors.
We are a local Merlin Automatic Garage Door Opener service agent and can fix most openers on sight if repairable. If the motor is not repairable we can replace it with a new Merlin Opener which comes with full warranty.
We repair most types of other automatic door openers.
We can arrange for quotation and completion of any construction work required for accurate fitting and installation of your garage door.
