100%"Big thanks to Ken and Ed the Drainlayer for sorting out 2 old underground terracotta stormwater lines to soakpits from downpipes. Ken turned up very promptly to look and quote for one of the lines, I had managed to get an additional line exposed on the day before the job was to be done. Ed on site on the Monday and got both lines all wrapped up in the one day.

40%"Hot Water Cylinder - I had no hot water from a cylinder that I had purchased and installed by Sumich Plumbing so called them first. I had incorrectly assumed that is was the element in the cylinder.
Quick response but disappointed as they charged me $224 for 15 minutes work including the time it took to go to the wholesaler to get the replacement element. I had no issue with the callout fee or the 15 minutes but the nice plumber was about to invoice me for that ($139) but then the office… rang the plumber to say to charge for the time he took to get the part. Why should I pay for that? Was he chatting to the staff during that time - how do I know? any way there was no mention of that on the initial quote over the phone so I'm giving them a bad review. Wont be using them again."Michelle, Gale or Jason Sumich responded:"Our Operations Manager spoke at length with you regarding having no hot water and asked if you had contacted the power company or electrician to make sure the ripple switch had not been turned off. Our Operations Manager asked for the model number of the cylinder and then spoke to Rinnai to ensure we had the right element. Our tradesmen carry an assortment of elements however, this particular model of element that was given to us is not stocked in our vans. We rang our merchants and found they had one in stock, we collected this from the merchant and went to site. Once our tradesman got to site, he found the issue was there was no power to the cylinder, an electrical problem. We now have to return to the merchant and return the unused element at our cost. The price charged was based on the charge up rates given on the phone (not a quote) as we cant tell how long a cylinder may take to drain to enable the tradesman to change the element safely. Took me less than 10 mins and I don't have any experience.Gale responded:"Thank you for your review. I have spoken to a tank manufacturer and he said the time of year would have a huge impact on whether the top could be popped or not... we got asked to attend this job in June - the start of winter. If I remember correctly you would have popped the top in November / December.. as the temperature was warmer, the tank would be hotter inside and out and pop out a great deal easier. Had to get a gib stopper to repair. When the gib stopper came a few weeks later I noticed a leak where the pipe was capped and they returned to fix it promptly with no charge. 100%"We got Sumich in to replace or storm water drains (from the roof).
Not only did they spot and fix a few little bits and pieces that i wasnt aware of, they came up with a very good solution that didnt require digging up half the front yard.
Very prompt and efficient both in quoting and carrying out the work, and very good with communication both before and after.

I then had shaun their gas fitter come around to check over the gas, very informative and helpful. It is nice to have someone who knows their craft well.
