    "Happy for the job and on time arrival (as agreed).

    BUT, it was not nice experience when it came to the invoice time.

    Apparently they change for base to base PLUS vehicle fee on top, which I don�t recall been communicated to me like that over the phone in first place. They claimed that it was a normal �industry practice�,... Well based on the quotes from other gas fitters it did not appear to as an industry wide practice. In any event, unfortunately, I did not have written quote to prove what was communicated to me initially. However, even taking the �base to base� approach, they still overcharged me! And instead of apologising and re-invoicing me to fix their own mistake they are making it look as if they are making me a favor quote to quote �� We are prepared to give you a credit. If you agree this this, I will send you a credit�."

    "Hi Max, As a company director, I'm sorry you're disappointed with our pricing. Our company policy for charge out work is for our ops team to confirm our charges with a customer prior to carrying out any works. I apologise if this didn't happen as you say. We do charge base to base to cover the tradesman's time and there is a nominal vehicle charge to cover the cost of running a vehicle to and from your property. We have a standard company dialogue that clarifies these charges in our initial talks. We can also provide written quotes. We endeavour to provide fair pricing to our customers and don't wish to impose any nasty surprises............I can't find your name and job in our system Max; can you please contact me direct at [email protected] so that I can seek to rectify any issues you have with your invoice directly.     "The office sent the plumber to our 'billing' address and not the property address given clearly over the phone at the time of the booking (to which Topline had been before with other plumbing and roofing work).
    Unfortunately, that meant the tenant couldn't wait for the plumber to take rush hour traffic from Campbell's Bay to Kingsland, and we had an otherwise unnecessary trip later in the day for a small job.
    Shane the plumber was excellent - arrived promptly at the new time, explained and fixed the problem with the leaking tap problem, checked all other taps, and left the bathroom tidy. The office person did apologise and take full responsibility when rang, and someone also rang the tenant to apologise.

    "We used Topline Building to help rebuild / renovate our Master Bedroom wardrobe. I was impressed from the outset by the level of care each of the Topline people showed to our house, right from the minute they arrived with protective plastic and drop-sheets being laid out to keep our house tidy throughout the project. The quality of workmanship has been very good and communication has also been good. The project took a little longer than planned - but the end result has also been better too - so overall we're very happy with Topline and would recommend to others to use."

    "Workmanship was good but billing is unscrupulous. Quote was half of final charges (no mention of service fee and hourly rate not job rate as told on the phone). Get a written quote if you use this company. Wish I'd checked this website before - seems like overcharges are an ongoing issue!"

    "We regret Claire feels she has been treated unfairly. When a customer phones in to book a job with us, our office staff have a formal qualification process in place which includes verifying our charges with customers before proceeding with any work. We have standard hourly rates across our services broken down into quarter hour increments and a daily service charge which is a fixed mileage charge to and from the property. On top of this, there can be charges for parts and materials should these be required. If a customer prefers to obtain a quote or estimate for the total works this can be arranged for most job types. Our office staff and trade’s team do their utmost to keep our customers informed on price and job progress. Topline has been successfully trading for over 25 years now and have longstanding relationships with many satisfied customers as you can see on our website. We note there have been 9 poor reviews listed on this website over an 8 year period. Although any poor review is disappointing, in context this number is very small especially considering our team’s high work load. Some members of our trade’s team for example, complete 8 or 9 different jobs a day regularly. "

    "Job was to install new gas hob. Thomas arrived and commented that job to replace 4 gas jets and connect the supply pipe was simple and should be finished quickly. Two hours later Thomas advised me there was a problem. A gas jet was stuck and now damaged. He said he thought it was glued in. The flats on the jet had been rounded off. He said to ring the mfr and left. I rang Delonghi and they sent out a technician. He removed the jet in 10 seconds and said he'd never seen this before. The removed jet thread was fine with no glue present. The technician said Thomas had probably used a removal tool that was worn or the wrong size. I called Topline back and Thomas returned and finished the job. The hob worked fine. Then the bill arrived. They charged me for a staggering 4.25 hours and 1.5 vehicle charges for a job that should have taken about 1 hour. I challenged this and sent them photos of the damaged jet. No reply. After the first overdue notice I paid the bill and enclosed another request to reconsider the charge. Still no reply. I do not think this company is interested in customer satisfaction. I no longer trust them and will not deal with them again. PS. Recently I found the hob was not sealed to the bench, after a spill leaked into the cabinet. Hence the poor quality rating. I sealed it myself to avoid any further complications."

    "Called Topline in to repair a small leak in my roof. As my house was two storey they sent two men for safety reasons - fair enough. The guys arrived on time, were pleasant and cleaned out some leaves in the guttering, identified some other repairs that would need doing soon and told me they had squirted around some silicon as there was no obvious hole. Seemed to take a long time to do such a small job though. So they left, I got the HUGE bill and then it rained and I still had the leak! Called the company and was told that to get them to come back and have another go would cost me more. I appreciate it can be hard to find the origin of small leaks but they would not even do one return visit within the original cost. Poor customer service, and no value for money in my opinion, so I will not use them again."

    "Their charges were ridiculous. I was charged for travel time which was from another job to mine, when the company is less than five minutes away. I suggest you get a quote first before allowing the job to be done. I have learn't my lesson."

    "We feel Ora\'s comments about our company are totally unreasonable. Our charges are not \"ridiculous\" infact they are currently below several of our main competitors. In any case our staff quote all our labour and mileage prices to our customers for confirmation prior to commencing any work. Although Ora lives 5 minutes from our premises our gasfitter had to travel to Penrose to collect specific parts for the hob. We have been in constant communication with this customer to try and resolve his issues and he has refused verbal communication. Topline receives many positive compliments from its customers and some of these are displayed on our website at www.toplinetradeservices.co.nz. "
