"Thar painted our two level building which comprises a block of four flats with carports. He also redecorated the interior of one flat. Exterior and interior work looks great.
Thar provided his own scaffolding and was very good working with the tenants.
I recommend Twins and will be using them again in the near future."

"Over the last couple of years we renovated many parts of our house (… new kitchen, bathroom, floors, …) and worked with many tradies… had some good experiences, some rather not so good…
But working with Thar was on a different level. I have not seen a tradie so passionate and committed to their craft. Thar and his colleague were very hard-working and still always friendly and went above and beyond.
The whole family was so happy about having them around and about the results of painting the exterior walls that we asked them to stay longer and e.g., do the whole deck and other extras, too.

"I'm genuinely surprised by all these 100% glowing reviews (I'd love to see these customers' other reviews) and am sorry to report that we have had a very poor experience having the exterior of our Devonport house painted by Twins. The paint barely lasted 6 months before it started to peel and crack and much of it needs doing again. Looking back at my texts it was August ( 3 months after the job) that I started chasing for follow up on door frames and front steps. Yes the price was competitive but the preparation and the work was quick and not thorough and I've had little response to repeated calls to re-do it. Thar's young sons did much of the painting and my large bifold doors out to the garden were particularly poorly painted. The villa was fully renovated 12 years ago with new window frames and bifold doors and we keep it in good condition so I'm not buying the line that our wood is in bad condition, yes of course we're exposed to the NZ weather but we're not living up a mountain or anything. The paint hasn't failed it's the workmanship. There are also cut marks on my glass doors from how the masking tape was removed with a blade. No guarantee, no fix and no contact. As busy working parents my husband and I have now given up trying.
We're very disappointed and cannot recommend them - I'm having to get quotes from a more experienced firm to re-do the work but in the meantime it's looked really rubbish for more than 12 months now."

"Thar and his team quoted a very good price for painting the exterior of our 2 storey house. The weather in February 2023 was bad, but they did the job in the week that was fine - 3 to 11 Feb. They even worked on Sat 11 Feb to finish before Cyclone Gabrielle was due on Mon 13 Feb. We are very happy with the workmanship - they undercoated everything and then 2 top coats. They were careful to not damage our metal tile roof which is easy to dent. We are very happy with the final result and with the price"

"Thar and his team have just completed an exterior paint of our large two storey house, balustrade and deck. They did a fantastic job, including repairing some rotten window frames. Due to Covid and other issues the repaint was well overdue which meant the prep work was more difficult, but the team persevered and the finish is great. The 'weatherboards' are aluminium which required a special undercoat that Thar knew about and sourced. No other painters who quoted had mentioned this. The lead time and completion time were reasonable and they cleaned up well. We have already recommended them to others and will continue to use them in the future. Thanks for a job well done."

"Thar and his team were thoroughly professional in their approach to and completion of our full house paint. They did excellent preparation of the painting surfaces which, as anyone who knows about painting knows, is key to achieving a great job. The team were available to discuss colour choices and have the experience required to provide worthwhile advice. There was a short delay due the scaffold not being available, but thereafter the job proceeded as required and within the stated timeframe."

"Thar was very pleasant to work with on what was a challenging house to re-stain the cedar and repaint of the roof for a 3 storey house. I needed to keep to a tight budget and Thar's quote won me over hands down (the cost of scaffolding quotes elsewhere were just too high, and Thar managed to keep the cost of that down). And quality was not compromised, his and his team's workmanship was very clean and tidy. Despite the bad weather, once he got a rain free week the job was finished very quickly. My house looks brand new! Very good value for money."

"Thar and the team have recently finished painting the exterior of our 1950s weatherboard house. The quality of their painting is excellent and the result is even better than we hoped. As the house hadn't been painted for years, there was quite a lot of prep work to be done. After it was done, I did a tour of the house before the scaffolds came down and I couldn't find a single spot that had been missed. Everything looked like it was brand new.

Just before they were due to start, the contractor we had lined up to replace some of the boards and do some other work said he couldn't do it. Fortunately Thar was able to recommend someone and coordinated the timing so there were no delays. Thar's recommended contractor also did excellent work.

Thar and the team were easy to work with and have done a really great job on the outside. Next paint project for us will be the inside, and we will definitely be calling Thar when we are ready to have that done."
