  "My 2 level 35 year old townhouse has 2 original membrane roofs, where I have been concerned about potential leaks along with rotten facial boards & a deck.

  I met Hamid on site where he confirmed the membrane was at end of life, but also the whole roof structure wasn’t built correctly. He also pointed out other issues such as flashings installed incorrectly & more rot in places I hadn’t noticed. The house was also due for a complete paint job as well.

  We then talked through… all the options where Hamid gave an honest approximate cost for each item that needed attention & then his recommendation taking into consideration what was most economical for the customer e.g. scaffolding was needed to fix the roof where the bulk of the cost was to put the scaffolding up & pull it down, therefore utilizing this to attend to other issues & painting.
  
  In the end it made sense to attend to all issues & we agreed on a time & materials basis. What I really liked about this arrangement was that the weekly invoice was open & clear showing the makeup of the hours such as who did the work & when they clocked on / off, original invoices on material costs & Hamid’s agreed margin which we had a written master builders agreement on. I could also contact Hamid anytime to discuss openly any charges which he clearly explained to me.
  
  In terms of the builders, James was my main contact. He turned up religiously each morning & always put in a solid days work which I witnessed many times when I worked from home. He was more than happy to answer any questions or concerns & I found him very communicative. I felt the apprentices also put in a solid days work & they all worked well as a team.
  
  In terms of workmanship, which lets face it, is the customers biggest concern, I was more than happy with the job which has absolutely transformed my place. Little details like the angles on the decks, balustrade design, covered corners where the weatherboards meet, sills added under the upstairs windows etc etc.
  
  I was so happy with the outside work & dealing with James that I asked if he could undertake replacing the toilet & vanity in the downstairs bathroom & re-tiling the floor where the existing vanity was taken out while I was away on holiday for 2 weeks. I came back to find James had completed the entire bathroom himself including the tiling & painting the whole room to an excellent standard – he is a man of many talents!!
  
  In terms of other tradies such as the painter, plumber, membrane installer, roofer & scaffolding company, every team was great to deal with & completed everything to a high standard. Hamid mentioned when we talked through the job that he had taken the time to find good “subbies” & build a good honest relationship with them which I can clearly see at the end of the job. I certainly found dealing with one person & having the reassurance that they had all the right contacts & was dealing with them directly meant the job went well & is certainly how I was left feeling.
  
  In summary, I would personally recommended the Your Builder team to any perspective client.

  James, the foreman and his team did an exceptional job of the renovation. they were professional, on time and worked to a very high standard. They also gave suggestions to improve the finished result, and to save costs.
  The customer portal is very impressive, and is accurate as far as completed work, and tracking the budget goes on a real time basis.   "Your Builder completed a bathroom and deck renovation for us in early 2018. They also replaced posts and joists in the basement and constructed a nib wall to prevent water getting under the house. We found their builders to be professional, highly skilled, fast and extremely hard workers. They were very good at problem solving and a pleasure to deal with.   "I can 100% recommend Hamid and his team. They recently undertook a partial reclad of our house and a bathroom renovation. Complete project management by Hamid made the whole process so easy and unstressful.
  Their friendly, approachable, completely transparent approach to everything from costs to timescales to best approach to the task made everything so manageable for us.
  Even when unexpected things turned up (like finding our piling had completely rotted away and so the house was effectively… floating) their explanation of what needed to be done, upfront costs for the extra work and very fast fixing of the problem made what could have been a stressful situation easy. A couple of hiccups with sub contractors also occurred but Hamid's handling of the situation was great - he did all liaison and got them back to put things right straight away.
  
  We found their site management to be impeccable, their time keeping exemplary (the hours these guys work is humbling), and the online app for monitoring the job is a great added extra.
  
  All in all, a great experience and we will be recommending them to everyone."

  "A very unhappy outcome.
  We were given an estimated time frame of 3.5 to 4.5 months for our new extension. The project was almost complete after 6.5 months. There was a similar blow out on the cost estimate with costs coming in at $74k over budget although notified variations only amounted to $12k . There is so much more to say regarding our poor experience.
  You might well choose him as your builder, but he will never again be our builder

  "John Woods, (Government mediator) 1.The project took 5.75 months including all of the additional work added. 2.There was a large amount of variations a lot of them continuously being added at the end also part of this time frame. 3. The project was estimated and delivered within 10% of the originally estimated amount plus agreed variations. We offered you an quotation as a fixed price however you chose the charge up option. 4. An adjudication is currently being lodge with the Takapuna building disputes tribunal in regards to this case. 4. Please note the 2 following fantastic reviews to follow and the other 19 existing ones and your only negative one. Unfortunately John you have been dishonest and motivated by money. You have knowingly broken the CBANZ agreement multiple times and I believe you will find it difficult come adjudication day. No complaints of issues were brought up during the 400k renovation only until we had left site and the final invoice was sent. Only after 6 weeks did we hear about any issues. In 20 years of providing a fantastic service we have not come across this type of dishonesty. I believe you will find it very difficult once an adjudicator has been assigned to this case. I understand you just see this as another mediation that you can achieve a discount off the final bill. "

  "We hired Hamid and his team for our bathroom renovation 6 weeks out from our move in day after our original reno company pulled out on us (stressful!). Hamid was our savior! He took on our project that involved removing the wall between the separate toilet and bathroom to make one bigger space.
  He worked with us to design the best layout to fit the toilet, bath, shower and vanity into the larger, but still small space.
  We felt completely confident with Hamid as he kept us up to date on… progress and was quick to contact us if he needed clarification on what we wanted or if there was a potential change in the design.
  
  Hamid gave us great suggestions and invaluable advice without being pushy and we felt he understood our vision and pulled out all stops to get the job done in the short time frame.
  
  The end result is an amazing fully tiled bathroom (including fully tiled shower space). And with what we feel is a much superior bathroom and at a smaller cost than what the original company quoted.
  
  We have no hesitation in recommending Hamid and his team at Yourbuilder. They will be the first people we call for any other renovation projects we have in the future."

  "I am very happy with my project with Your Builder Ltd !!! Job was done on time and 3% under the original estimate. I highly recommend Your Builder as per the following:

  Hamid and the team completed a large building project for me in August 2014 on my house in Takapuna specifically removal of the existing carport, build of an oversized double weatherboard garage and also a spare bedroom attached to the side of the garage. The cost in excess of $150,000 dollars.

  In terms of pricing I… feel Hamid outlined all the costs upfront in the cost estimation with a clear breakdown, and we came in under 3%. One of my concerns was a builder providing a lower quote and then "adding" on items. Pleased to say no cost blowout , everything was agreed upfront and project risks explained to me.
  
  The team worked swiftly and promptly with a high quality of workmanship. Each step was explained to me so I knew what jobs were occurring, the reason why and the costs involved ( e.g. membrane on sub ground level foundations / metal flashings above window frames ). We were able work through the technical build challenges in a positive and cost effective manner (e.g. engineering of garage roof attaching to lower level house roof).
  
  Your Builder use building materials that are going to last the next 50 years ( e.g. no leaking building materials, Hamid recommended we change the architects choosen building material to weatherboards) and also that look stylish and will add value to my property, for example Hamid took time to source a specific. single roller oversized double garage roller door which I am very happy with as there is no post in between the two carparks.
  
  Your Builder completed a high quality build that will last , I can see that just by the quality of the workmanship. Also some of Hamids quote were mostly lower than contractor quotes I had previously sourced myself personally ( e.g. electrician , Velux sunroof etc)
  
  I have no hesitation recommending Your Builder for a high quality build & efficient service but also the team is committed to giving me a great looking product at the best price point, so I feel I got the very best deal I could for my hard earned dollars and will have gained back the money I spent on the capital appreciation of the house value

  "The Yourbuilder team worked on an extensive renovation job on my 60\'s townhouse in Brett Ave Takapuna; updated a tired bathroom and kitchen, then went on to replace a load bearing wall with a beam and replace windows with new joinery. Even did some landscaping work too! Nice job, friendly team. All went pretty smoothly, within expected budget given the complications of working on an older house, and most importantly the council is happy!

  "We recently were in dire need of a competent builder, I was given Hamid's name & within a day he had met me, scoped out the job to be done & materials required then in a couple of days he sent us Mike who did an excellent job of installing our Hardiglaze panelling & bath & then did another job of installing our flue ducting for our Kitchen rangehood.   "I called Hamid Zwart to renovate my bathroom, kitchen and dining area in my apartment. Even though I did call him just by looking at the yellow pages and not putting time to thoroughly search my options for a builder/project manager Hamid turned out to be a an excellent choice. His best qualities are

  1. He has a professional manner at all times, ready to answer questions when asked at anytime asked.

  2. Simplifies technical jargon, relaxed attitude and friendly… personality.
  
  3. Puts the client first at all times in order to get the job done according to the client’s needs.
  
  4. Provides valuable advice to allow client to make correct decisions.

  "We have recently renovated our garage into a playroom/office and Hamid project managed the work for us. We were recommended Hamid by a friend of ours and we were so impressed with the work that he did that we have now been recommending him to all or our friends and family.
  Hamid and Tyrone were completely professional in all the work that they did. The site was always kept immaculately and the work that they did was to the highest standard. We were so happy with the end result.
  We were… also really impressed with how well Hamid was able to manage all of the other contractors that we needed in order to complete the job. The job ran very smoothly and quickly. We did not have to deal with any stress which was just great.
  
  Hamid also took control of a problem that we encountered, with doors that we had ordered (independent of Hamid). He was able to advocate for us and was insistent that the doors were perfect before they were fitted. It was really great for us to have someone so experienced take control when a problem arose.
  
  We were absolutely thrilled with the end result and we would highly recommend Hamid and his team to anyone needing a builder. We will most certainly be using them again in the future."

  "Your Builder comes with my 200% recommendation. Their reliability, quality of workmanship and expertise was superior. I have dealt with a lot of contractors in the past and Hamid and his team did a VERY professional job exceeding anybody I have worked with in the past. They are extremely respectful of my clients and go the extra mile. Nothing is a problem and they are competitive in their pricing without compromising quality.
