    "Quoted $115 per hour but didn't say exc GST.
    Turned up early so I wasn't fully prepped but got on with it anyway. Two guys who spent a lot of time umming and ahhing about how to do things and how to stack the truck. It took 8 hours - which is about double the time it has ever taken before with all the same house stuff. Then they added on extras for appliances and taking stuff up or down stairs!! THEN - an extra 2 hours for travel time from Papatoetoe...not sure how it takes an hour to get from… St Johns to Papatoetoe. The whole cost was $1,500! I queried with them and then on the phone with their office especially about the added on GST and it not being part of their initial quote but they didn't give a toss and I was so exhausted by then ( I was actually helping them get stuff out of the truck to try and save time) I just paid and sent them away. Absolutely the WORST moving company ever and I have used many. STEER CLEAR!    "

    "We recently used Auckland Wide Movers and were overcharged, pressured to sign a contract and furniture messed up. We were told that the movers would be at the first property between 2-3PM. The movers arrived 30mins late at 3.30pm with limited communication and no apology for the hold up with zero care for how busy our day was. They spoke minimal English making the afternoon very difficult and hard to understand eachother.

    The quote that we initially received was $115/hr plus GST, a minimum… of 3hrs which Auckland Movers indicated to us would be sufficient for the amount of furniture and the small distance between homes. We made it clear that we were only making the booking with the understanding it would be more or less $400 incl GST. We paid a deposit of $97. The mover then stated that we had to pay for their travel to and from Papatoetoe, meaning that we were paying for their services for an additional 1.5hrs that we had agreed to and used. They helped us move for 3hrs but they insisted that we would have to pay for 4.5hrs, meaning we were paying for them to be late and not be helping us move?

    They became slightly animated when they saw us become frustrated and began to raise their voice, speak quickly and effectively told us that we had to make the transfer on the spot. They speedily pushed us through signing the contract, and told us to take it up with complaints if we had a problem with the additional costs.

    However we were shocked and pressured to pay an additional $599 on the spot for their travel and lateness as well. This means that we ended up paying a total of $696 when we had budgeted and being strictly advised upon booking $395 would be sufficient. Disgusting customer service and shocking experience with AUCKLAND WIDE MOVERS.    "

    "Most appalling experience with them. Charged 9 hours to move 750meters to storage unit (10 cu.m) in Ponsonby from a single level house (everything packed) with the truck backed up to front door. They were so slow - didn't even take their puffer jackets off!! Insisted on payment before leaving unit. Unfortunately we weren't there so didn't see they had dropped a marble table ($5k) and didn't tell us. They said it was at our risk which I understood but not when they were careless - if it was too… heavy they should have said something. BEWARE of cover for that. They did drop off basketball hoop to house 450metres away too. Charged for time spent going to get petrol - 30 MINUTES!!! Outrageous and so unprofessional - would never use again - had asked for references before they came but didn't receive any - should have been a red flag. THEY ARE AUCKLAND WIDE MOVERS AND AUCKLAND WIDE MOVING (DON'T CONFUSE WITH AUCKLAND WIDE REMOVALS)"
