    "I engaged Bramco to provide the granite benchtop for my new kitchen. They were very helpful and professional initially, and my kitchen was measured up and a template sent to me to approve. I told them I would be out of the country and scheduled a day on my return to have the bench installed. While I was away I was contacted by one of their staff, Doug, who said that the benchtop was now going to be installed while I was away. I said this was going to be difficult, but he said that they were busy on the day i had requested and if I didn\'t take the date while I was away it would be another 5-6 days (without bench, hob, running water in kitchen etc). I organised for a friend to take time off work and meet the Bramco installers at my house. The installers didn\'t show up, and when my friend called Doug he was very rude and said that it wasn\'t unreasonable to have to wait for 2 hours.... They did eventually show up and were apparently very fast and professional.

    I wrote a letter of complaint to the firm regarding the service I received around the installation, and was told that the owner/manager would get back to me. Meanwhile my plumber came to install the taps and hob that needed to wait until the bench was in. At this point we discovered that the holes cut for the tap and water filter were grossly different to that on the approved template, and in fact my plumber could not fit the taps at all. I rang Bramco and they sent someone out in a couple of hours to figure out a way to fix the holes - my plumber was waiting the whole time as without knowing whether the bench would need to be replaced. Fortunately the person they sent out was great, and did manage to make the bench usable so the kitchen installation was able to continue.

    Subsequently I received an invoice for the full amount, but no personal comment or apology from the owner over either the service, or the screw up with the tap holes (or the extra half day i needed to pay the plumber). I asked if I would receive any response and the owner assured me he wanted to come and see the bench and discuss my concerns. Despite my paying the invoice in full, and offering several times that the owner could come and meet with me, I have (one month later) not received any apology or explanation, written or verbal.

    Update: Subsequently Mark the owner HAS came to apologise in person and reimburse me and my friend for the inconvenience and hassle. I appreciate him coming and making the effort. The bench does look great despite the fairly traumatic install, and I have received many positive comments on it.
