    Went to CarTune Ponsonby for a WOF in the weekend. Got failed on breaks, shocks.. (the list goes on). My partner is a mechanic and takes care of my car so I was quite shocked. We ended up taking it to a VTNZ straight after where it passed without any problems even being noted for next time..

    Looks like I know how they afford to rent a space in central Ponsonby."

    "I am always skeptical of these types of online reviews, because I always think the owners put good reviews up to bump up their rating. HOWEVER, i am a legit customer who has used cartune for the past 3 years and we have always had good experiences with cartune, professional, well priced, excellent service, good work, no complaints. whenever we take the car in we get it back when they say they\'ll have it done, always. We took our car to fredco on union street recently (only because our insurance company said to take it there, and because its closer than cartune, but not by much) and they took 3 DAYS of mucking around and lying ((ie. telling us the part was coming and due at so and so a time, and then ended up waiting 3 DAYS for them to get it sorted), we know that a part takes 3-4 hours to come by courier, NOT 3 DAYS!!! Then they had the cheek to say \'oh your WOF is due next week\', sorry folks we sure aint bringing our car to you ever again! I tell you, it made us appreciate Cartune more. Love cartune. From a legit customer."

    "I have been a customer of CarTune Ponsonby since 2008/9 & have never had any problems with their great workmanship & customer service.
    I would recommend any female to CarTune Ponsonby who will treat you with respect & not rip you off!
    I have dealt with other mechanic & a so-called elite company like CCS in Newmarket, got completely ripped-off went as far as MTA, they are definitely a \"cow-boy outfit\".
    Craig & his team are the BEST, will always source the cheapest price for you, give you options & advice, complete the work in stated time (or earlier) & friendly helpful people.

    I can trust CarTune Ponsonby and never have to think twice.

    Highly recommend them to anyone!

    "They guys at car tune had a one in a million foul up with my car which was compounded when one of their sub trades let them down very badly and billed them (and me) for work that had not actually done. My car was off the road for a month but Craig not only covered the cost of a rental for me but only charged me for the original work that was to be done by the subbie once he was sure that they had done it right and not for any of their labour during this time. As a non mechanical type he could have pulled the wool over my eyes and hit me up for a big bill but the is a top mechanic and a very ethical bloke to boot.

    Have recommended them to everyone I know.

    "Great service all around, I requested they look for a problem regarding the transmission that I had noticed and asked for a flush, they came back to me and said it the fluid was clean and there was no need for a flush, extremely honest. Had to also get the cambelt done all for a reasonable price. Overall very happy with every aspect of the business"

    "Craig was god to deal with. They sent the head out for repair after a internal water leak. reassembled and was running on 3 cyclenders. decided the timing belt was wrong so disassebmled it. another 3 hours and didnt get car that night as promised. was not charged for the extra work. problem was not timing belft. someone had dropped a plug so it was bent and not sparking. the carburettor was assempbled incorrectly. cold starting it stalled unless kept foot down. revs about 500. when hot it shot up to over 2000rpm. had vacuum hoses around the wrong way. they ficed that. the auto choke has never beenright since. they had the car for another week trying to get it right - letting it go cold overnight. i gave up in the end. its still bad. craig seemed good but the guys doing the work were not. i am keeping away in future."

    "Craig diagnosed my problem pretty quickly - replaced my fan belt and fixed the problem which was causing it to come off - something the Renault dealer had not managed to do on previous occasions. This is the second time I have dealt with them and from now on will also use them for my yearly service and recommend to everyone I know. They are customer focussed - and open at weekends, which is a definite plus. Thanks guys."
