"WHERE DO I START!..... heres why HRV
Coming up 3 yrs and the worst service an system I've ever experienced in my construction career. The other reviews are related parties trying sway the ledger here and the people whom have this junk in there rentals won't care.
We lived with the full on smell of the ceiling insulation after explaining our kids allergies. Everytime we turned it on the kids an us were sneezing and this shows there products are rubbish as we have 3 'Carbon filters' an made no diff. Had the main boss call us and Jimy the system to work, so we paid then it fell over in weeks an stopped working cause it broke down anyway.....

    Engaged HRV and DVS.

DVS didn't know, HRV said our system was from the old days and we needed a basic upgrade.

Today we are two days in, the HRV system has been adjusting to the first frost we had. This means we had a warm night because the moisture junk was pulling cold air in making our heat pumps work hard. Today the house is noticeably more comfortable and totally no ceiling space smell and no runny noses.

Will continue to post this feedback on every site I can. Do not waste your money

"Had a balanced pressure system installed after extensive shopping around. Really works as advertised - absolutely no moisture on windows in the mornings since it was installed.
I think any claims as to ventilation systems providing free heat are absolute rubbish, the system does not do that.
All the air extracted from the house is passed through a heat exchanger to warm the air coming in from outside, the heat recovery is probably in the order of 70-90% so you definitely waste some of your heating, this is offset to a degree by only needing to heat dry air (much easier to heat than moisture saturated air).

We did have a problem with the fans intermittently turning off, someone came around to look at the system and decided to replace the control panel and controller. This took a couple of months to actually sort from start to finish - after sales service could certainly be improved.

In the whole home ventilation market I think there are many wild claims that can't be substantiated, and probably a lot of companies who are over eager to sell you their product even if it is not strictly the best product for your particular house. I really think a lot of research needs to go into this decision if you want to get one of these systems.

I never want to live in a house without one again. Moisture master had a good product at good price, but after sales service (while ultimately we got there) was a bit slow.

"I have had three units installed in rental properties. Home ventilation systems have made a huge impact on these homes. I would recommend for property owners. Condensation from windows went immediately. Huge benefit to the property and tenants. Highly recommend. I have never had any issues with the Moisture Master.. had the first one installed in Auckland in 2009. I have the filters changed annually."

"We have had nothing but problems with our Moisture Master system. The quality of the supplied "technology" is dubious at best with two fans breaking down in 3 years. Customer service outside of actually selling us the unit is non existent, and the chance of them standing behind their product when faulty and replacing it is also non existent.
This company is all over you when it comes to selling you the unit and talk about quality components, but don't bother if the unit breaks down and you aren't prepared to pay to have it put right.

Consider any other option than installing a Moisture Master.

"I have had a moisture master since 2009. I wish I had never used this company. The system doesn\'t work and the company have not wanted to know about it. They have absolutely zero customer serivce, and do not want to know when you complain.
Moisture Master have in their contract a money back guarantee and if your moisture master system fails to work properly, then they guarantee your money refunded. Well when we tried to enforce that clause in their guarantee, they refused to refund our money. 3 years later and the system is still not operating properly. I would never, never reccommend anyone to purchase a MOISTURE MASTER, and further more I beleive they are misleading the public. NEVER NEVER NEVER PURCHASE A MOISTURE MASTER. IT IS A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!

"After doing my research on a number of ventilation/condensation control systems I finally decided to go with MoistureMaster because they seemed to be offering the best price for a heat exchange ventilation system. However, I was extremely disappointed with the installation by the electricians and the product. Firstly, the installation was poor (e.g. vents too close to doors as well as the intake and exhaust external vents being within 1 m of each other so they cross contaminate). Secondly, what was installed did not have features that they had advertised in their promotional material e.g. roof exhaust. This lead to meetings with the Managing Director and thankfully we were able to come to an agreement which involved additional features being added and a price discount. Apart from this, the system is working reasonably well. My advice is to make sure you know what you are getting, don't be sucked in by salespeople and ask questions if you are unsure about something. My sister also had a forced air ventilation system installed into her house. She believes the heater is a waste of money (treat heating a house separately to ventilating). The only problem she has had ( 5 months after installation) is a power surge caused the fans to jam on full speed. Moisturemaster were going to make her wait about 5 days before an electrician could get out. However, she managed to get them there earlier."

"We had a Moisture Master system installed in 2004 and 5 years later we are still unsatisfied. We have had problems with the system from day 1. They have attempted to rectify problems such as the heater breaking down and installing an external intake but our house still has moisture on the windows. Every winter I call them and am still waiting for the person to come from last winter. I spoke to Allan and Paul at the Christchurch Home Show last year and Paul was going to come and check the system AGAIN in January. I am still waiting. This company has no idea of the concept of after sales service. It is now too late for us to get the system removed and our money back but nothing would make me happier than to get rid of it. Poor product performance, disgusting customer service....unless you are purchasing, then they are around like a shot. Give them a wide berth and check out the alternative products"

"I Have been trying for a few months now to get the business owner Paul to get in touch with me now. I have send emails and made phonecalls to the Auckland AND Dunedin offices. I have also left messages to no avail.
They were over and got in touch with us as a shot when it came to selling their product but once installed there is no such thing as customer sevice.
We have been in touch with HRV and they thought that their system wouldn't be suitable for our roof (flat). It just makes me wonder wether this would be the same for the Moisture Master. I can only rely on what I see in our house (not working well) since MM is not getting back to me to explain what could be the cause of it not working.

"Took over a month to lodge a warranty claim after discovering the heating system was not working (it only lasted 2 winters).

Were it not for a phone call early today (4 June 08) and another one later in the day when no-one got back to me as they said they would, I'd still be waiting and wondering. Not great in the communication or customer care department!"
