100%"I live in Auckland and first became involved with Sound Homes after the big flood in January 2023. Due to the flood my internal spouting overflowed into the ceiling of my lounge and caused significant damage. I was advised by the company that repaired my ceiling to contact Sound Homes about any other repairs required.
I made contact with Regan from Sound Homes and he was amazing, easy to communicate with either by phone or e-mail and extremely patient in helping me understand what was required… to be done to my home to prevent further internal flooding. This resulted in major repairs being completed to the outside of my home e.g. new external spouting, painting various areas around the house and repair of rotting wood.
All the workers who were involved in completing this project were absolutely amazing, polite, respectful and diligent. The standard of work was exemplary it could not be faulted in anyway. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone. I would give Sound Homes a very definite 100% in everyway.

100%"We wanted a professional company that could organise all the different trades that would be required for out project. We found Sound Homes who were only too willing to travel to the outskirts of Auckland. Reagan came out and did a thorough assessment of our home and identified what was needed – making our home weather tight (we had no idea), replacing timber, servicing the window joinery, painting the cedar cladding, etc. He was very reassuring that it was no problem to carry out what was… required. We received a professional comprehensive quote and after comparing it to another quote, gladly accepted Sound Homes quote based on their professional and detailed scope of work.
Gonzalo and Shane managed our project. The tradespeople on site knew what they were doing as it would have taken a lot of organising in the background to co-ordinate the work. Shane’s painters, Gonzalo and his carpenters, and Alex worked hard, took pride in their work and did an excellent job for us. It opened our eyes as to how skilful they were as nothing was too much trouble.

The work i had done was to convert to a external gutter system and had the house repainted, Gonzalo and Alex on site were great to deal with, friendly and explained everything. The whole project took a few weeks longer than expected but that was due to Aucklands great weathers conditions, wasnt a day without rain. 95%"Sound Homes were absolute lifesavers and did a stunning job.
Our house in Auckland developed a leak in the heavy rain in July. We had several contractors come around to assess it, but none of them could give us a straight answer as to what the problem was. Some suggested a flashing issue, some suggested a cladding problem, others suggested it needed the roof re-doing. None of them really inspired any confidence that they knew what the problem was, and none could guarantee they would fix… it.

Then Regan came around from Sound Homes. He did a thorough inspection, which including cutting into some of the Gib to have a look inside and ascertain the extent of the issue. He then took his findings back to the team, and got back to us with a proposed solution as well as a guarantee that it would fix the leak. The quote was higher than some of the other contractors, but we were impressed with his level of knowledge, as well as his ability to explain what the issue was and the certainty that they could fix it. We were also happy that the quote included everything, and didn't rely on coordinating different contractors e.g. roofers, scaffolders etc.
After accepting the job, scaffolding went up quickly, and they wasted no time getting to work. Gonzalo and his team of builders were courteous, efficient, skilled, and left the site in great condition - they were really good at cleaing up after themselves (something other tradies haven't been great at in the past). When they found additional issues, they explained what this meant, and sorted a revised quote to fix it all.
Everyone from the team did a great job. The repairs to our cladding were done with care to detail, painting of the house done to a very high standard, and the repair of interior Gib after needing to cut into it was done swiftly with an amazing job done on matching the colour, it's impossible to see where the repair took place!
The real test of their work came during the two Auckland floods. While lots of our neighbours experienced big leaks, our house stayed bone dry. Had we not got Sound Homes in, we would have been in loads of trouble. 80%"Having internal guttering switched to external was always a big job, and esp after Akl flooding issues. The boys managed to slip the work in between jobs, despite this being a large task, Covid-19 sicknesses and overwork, and did it over a period of time with good communication. Gonzalez and the on the ground team were great - when the boys accidentally broke a gate to get the work done, they replaced it with a brand new bespoke gate which was superb. Equally, when additional work needed doing… on a rotten patch in the garage, the team were great and we never felt less than confident. The only downside we've noticed in the months after is some paint work done by a sub-contractor they hired which is not up to par and has left several odd patches / tops being missed. Which was a shame as he was a nice guy, just a bit lacking on the detail front. Materials and techniques were some of the best I have seen, this is the third project I have done with different companies, cost was mid to high but not the highest quote received. Issues were found on site during the works and payment plans were arranged without duress to ensure that quality level and works could continue within a budget timeframe of my choosing. Remedial fixes were needed… due in part to the complicated original house design and the team response was timely and professional backing up their workmanship. 98%"From the outset Phil gave us confidence that he knew what he was talking about. Through previous renovations our home ended up with a mix of brick and solid plastering and Rockote finishes.
I reached out to Rockote first as they had completed the last renovation. They suggested Sound Homes. Phil scoped the house, suggested what needed to be done, from an extra few expansion joints to the type of joint filler and final paint qualities that should be used. The price was higher than expected but… we felt they knew what they were doing, would guarantee their work and their materials.
His plasterers, painters and final follow up work was completed with professionalism and all teams were polite and very customer focused.
The final outcome, we received our guarantee, the home was checked out by independent buyer consultants and received "no red flags". Jared Hards, Ray White, Mangere Bridge said that doing what we have done with a guarantee has certainly given the assurance to the market pre-auction. The final wash up - the auction realised our reserve quickly and was sold.

As we began the project it became apparent the scope was greater than originally expected and I was kept fully informed with photos and detailed requirements so I could justify the extra spend.

95%"Sound Homes did an amazing job. I had a number of quotes but most were no more than just 'targetted repairs'. At the end of the job I would have still had a plaster home albeit not leaking anymore, but with no more saleability-appeal than before the repair. The Sound Homes Ltd approach is really quite different. The repairs were done, the problematic Taylor Fascia removed and new guttering/downpipes installed. The block now looks fresh and in my opinion the work was done to an excellent standard.
They took longer to complete the job because as they moved through the blocks they found issues and promptly alerted us to these and then went ahead as required to solution and complete. That meant there were delays but in the longrun it was well worth the wait to have the issues resolved.
Sound Homes were outstanding and went over and above quite often and I personally believe the quality of work was better than I have seen before. The painters were very diligent and thorough, working to get the job completed as quickly as possible, despite the rain that hindered progress throughout the job.
