95%"We chose AWR not because they were the cheapest (they weren't) but because they had good reviews and a good reputation. And I'm very glad I did! The crew was efficient and mostly the move went well except for an incident where part of our (and the neighbours) retaining wall was damaged due to issues accessing one of the driveways. When I let AWR know, they got back to me quickly, did a site visit, and repaired the wall the next week. That kind of customer service is getting harder and harder to… find in today's world and for that reason I would not hesitate to recommend them. 98%"The Team at Auckland Wide Removals completed our move in the Auckland region towards the end of September 2021. We had to deal with numerous re-schedules as we navigated the difficulties of lockdown and our move date having to change accordingly.
Special thanks to Nina Reid, Operations Manager, who quickly responded to emails and calls during a very stressful period. She remained positive, polite and friendly and quickly helped find solutions.
We had a big over 60 cubic meter move to do so… finding a company to move us when all moving companies were under pressure added to our stress load.
The team of 4 strong young men were efficient, kept to their 'work bubble' (masked) and got the job done quickly and carefully at the old and new house.
Our furniture was packed well into the truck and we only suffered some minor scratches on a couple of items and a small scratch/dent to the wall (which they immediately told us about).
All in all a very good job. Well done team...

When Brad, Ben and Mike showed up precisely when they said they would, all positive, energetic, polite and SOOOOOOO helpful, I thought I had died and gone to moving heaven!!!!
Nothing was too much trouble (even though as a woman, I have to change my mind at least 20 times). Everything was moved with a smile, gently, and with great speed. The real eye opener was that two hours in, and they were STILL running up my stairs with smiles on their faces.… They even did on the spot handyman jobs when some of my items didnt quite fit through the door.
I loved the way my boxes were packed in the garage just like you would pack a truck, so that I wouldnt realise I had so much stuff.....

Initial quote was fine and we were happy to proceed.
During the move however it was noticeable that the guys were moving fairly slow. One of the team told us that they were taking their time, being extra careful and wanted to avoid returning to base early.
Unfortunately being "extra careful" resulted in damage to a lot of our furniture and the "taking their time" led to having to call in another team/truck that were… capable of moving twice as fast in order to complete the move on time.

Head office - however - 50% - Initial contact great - but very disappointing to learn that half way through, the actual move day - the guys doing our job - were asked by head office to get us (the customer) to book another carrier so they could be moved to another job that was bigger and taking too long..
This is the only reason - the rating is lower.
When a customer books - they expect the job finished - not attempted to leave half way through.
So To Head Office- when someone books what you as professionals should expect to take 7 to 10 hours - with your company - Dont attempt to leave them hanging after load 1! NOT ON AT ALL! Moving is stressful enough without that occurring. Glad to say - the guys said no to you on our behalf...
Based on their professional approach - we would use your company again.

Chey and Jessie arrived exactly on time, put in a really solid afternoon's effort, and were cheerful and great to work with the whole time. They were originally going to bring a larger truck; just as well they didn't because the destination driveway is narrower than anyone realised. Mere inches to spare each side but… Chey has great driving skills and handled a tricky reversing with ease. Jason dropped by halfway through with extra straps for the truck, check on progress, and make sure the guys were doing okay. He's clearly well-respected by the guys as a great 'Boss'. The truck arrived on time, a team member called a few minutes before to advise they were nearly there.
Three fit and energetic men, Tom, Chey and Tavinda, made up our moving team who shifted our 50+ cubic metres of furniture from a storage unit to its new home. While we had a lot of family help at the new location we were so… very impressed with the speed, efficiency, friendliness and focused concentration of the team. The truck driver showed his expertise in getting into tight spaces, all done with ease with the help of the team leader who was very professional and skilled in his vehicle directing. I have nothing but praise for the friendly, professional and efficient service I received from Auckland Wide Removals when they shifted my sick mothers house for me last month. Not only did the driver have to navigate a very tricky steep and doglegged driveway (with impressive ease - the guy was a machine), the staff took excellent care of everything from a multitude of mirrors and pictures (all wrapped in blankets with not one broken) very… fragile items, and a precious grandfather clock which they took extra care to wrap and protect.
They arrived on time, midweek, at 8.30am in Red Beach (coming across the city in rush hour traffic from Panmure!), listened to my needs, asked questions when they needed to, and were in and out in a flash.
I found I didn't need to wrap my mattress/bed base as the blankets used where sufficient within the truck interior....(generally one plastic wraps ones own mattress when one moves house - and can be purchased for about $10-15 from just about anywhere), and when I packed my own boxes I made sure they weren't over loaded them to make them too heavy to carry and move myself post delivery. I have no trouble recommending Auckland Wide Removals as the team were an absolute credit to the company. 50%"I would love to be leaving positive feedback here as the guys that did the moving were excellent however, they did turn up two hours late and broke an expensive window.
I've tried to get their company insurance to cover the break, even offering to pay half the excess but I have been ignored. Even an independent glass inspector confirmed it was a fresh break but even this was not enough to have it covered.
BEWARE if you're after a service that will cover breakages you find after the move.

Our job was a big job, that took over 6 hours and took two trucks with 4 guys. Whilst we packed the smaller items ourselves, we are very impressed with their quoting process, their admin service, and their care in handling of our furniture and items both during the truck packing stages and the unloading stage. Although their work was generally okay and the guys arrived on time on both days and were very polite, pleasant, patient and friendly, I would not give full scores for the company. And I would like to make sure my ratings and what I write below are not taken as criticism on the guys who worked hard on both days but on the management and training (as the guys were doing what they were told to and trained by Damien himself as he had answered to me… when I asked a specific question regarding training). PACKING--In the offer, 3 people was supposed to be sent and complete packing on the day before the moving day. However, one of the three quit right after lunch so the remaining two people could not complete packing. The remainder had to be packed on the morning of the actual moving day making the start of the moving delayed. On the packing day, one of the guys asked if he could use bath towels to pack some items and explained it would save costs for packing materials. I said yes. But later when I unpacked, I was surprised and felt unpleasant to find they had used even my bathrobes and to see one of them got stains from the item wrapped inside. When unpacking, I was also disappointed to find items were packed quite loosely so unnecessarily more number of boxes were used increasing the cost. Some minor damages were also made on some furniture as the packing tapes were used carelessly to attach items such as wooden pins on the surface of some pieces. AFTER REMOVAL--Removing used boxes after moving was included in the offer. When he was giving an offer, Damien said he would take boxes away afterwards and told me to give him a ring when they were ready to pick up. So I gave a ring in late April when he said he would pick them up the next day. But the next day he never turned up without any notices. I gave several calls and sent an email to him since but there has been no response up until now. I was only able to manage to have Danielle on the phone once during the last 4 weeks or so only to be told they were too busy and that picking up boxes was not their priority. I totally felt disregarded and was disappointed at their change of attitude. In spite of some issues I was not quite satisfied with, until this recent incidence, I was thinking I would write a good review of this company and recommend it to others. But I have lost faith on them and their unprofessional approach to follow-up of their clients once the payment was made. When moving in they took note of which bedrooms were which and placed items and boxes in the correct rooms, if they weren\'t sure they asked. Not one piece of furniture had to be moved into place as they put everything where it should go.

100%"We recently moved from Auckland to Whangarei and using Auckland Wide Removals was definately the right choice. Moving is always a stressful time but Damien went out of his way to make things as stress-free as possible. Right from the start he was helpful, making sure I had enough packing supplies to pack up my house, which he provided for me at a very reasonable rate. The truck was packed very carefully to ensure no damage to any of my belongings, and unpacked in Whangarei with the same… amount of care. It was a big day for everyone but Damien even managed to hook up my washing machine, which I thought was such great service. I would recommend Damien and his team for any move in and around town or out of town like mine. He was polite and friendly, helpful and most of all careful, you can tell he takes real pride in his job and company. Very careful with my belongings (without this slowing them down). And the best packing for storage that I have ever seen. Initial email response very prompt. Had to chase up by telephone for a confirmation of date but this was only due to my short notice request. Excellent value for money. I used them to move two homes within the same week and they helped make what is usually a very stressful time an easy, no hassel experience. Their communication was brilliant and the guys who actually did the moving were legends!
I can\'t recommend this crowd enough. Yes, they may charge a little more than some movers, but you pay for what you get.
