    "the representative sales lady was nice, but DON'T use this company. they were as rough as guts and I had SEVERAL breakages, a broken microwave, a broken computer table, 3 damaged bookshelves, a damaged ( treasured) Queen Anne dining table which they told me they would " export pack" ! ... and also damage to a very precious irreplacable gilded mirror with painting ....there were no apologies . i am very angry that I was naive enough to trust them. I would never recommend such a careless uncaring company. DONT USE!"

    "This company will not honour its quotes then extort more money from you once your possessions are loaded with little justification or explanation.
    We were apparently underquoted for the volume of our move (physical inspection, after we told them we were seeking other quotes, they were certainly not the cheapest but seemed confident in his quote and quality of service) then held our possessions hostage to extort almost $2000 more from us to “ensure smooth delivery service”. We requested a detailed breakdown of the additional costs, to which we only got a generic response (effectively we are charging more because we said so), and to top it all off ended up causing minor damage to numerous pieces of furniture (gouge to heirloom dresser and dented fridge, smashed mirror etc) that they supposedly professionally wrapped.

    Due to the timeframe of the move being over the weekend, they agreed to deliver “essentials” on the Friday for the weekend. We were gobsmacked that for a family of 7 they believed this was just 4 mattresses, nothing else. We had a priority carton that was not only not delivered with these essentials but ended up in the garage that had to dig out and was in poor condition.

    Absolutely disappointed with the service, despite seeming professional and well-organised we found them to be deceptive, incompetent and way too expensive.

    After we sent this review to their customer service before putting it up here to give them a chance to remedy the situation we finally got the response from their representative who had ignored us – with unsatisfactory detail and once again being ignored once we asked for more information. They have their money, on top of their agreed quote so why bother following up further.

    "moved to New Zealand from the UK about a year ago. I haven't written a review until now because I was so angry at the time.

    "The Moving Company" were chosen to be the team on the other end when I arrived. I didn't choose them myself, they were chosen by the UK company I booked with.
    There were a few major problems with the service, I have outlined the main ones below.

    1. One box out of my shipment was lost. A big box of family photos and keepsakes was lost, along with the package that contained all the nuts and bolts needed to re-assemble my furniture. I am still sad about the loss of these photos one year later. They were never found and of course it's not possible to be compensated for them. They delivered every box except this one.

    I should have put them in my suitcase instead but there were too many to fit.

    2. When I arrived in New Zealand, the date that was booked for The Moving Company to come in and deliver all my stuff was just before Christmas.

    When the removals team arrived, I encountered an uncooperative, hostile and angry team manager who was angry because the moving company had booked in too many jobs that day and he wanted his team to go home... It was very late in the day.

    When he stacked my boxes so high I couldn't reach them, I asked him to take them down and was met with verbal abuse. He also blamed me for the nuts and bolts being lost (despite the moving company having lost the box with them in.) They left before assembling the furniture that could be assembled, in their desperation to get home.

    When I complained to the Moving Company they gave me $150 in compensation and a man came round to help me assemble furniture and take away my boxes, but it doesn't erase the memories of being intimidated and abused, and treated with general disdain in my own home. I am a young, single 5ft woman and this guy was a large man. I doubt I would have been treated this way if I hadn't been a young woman on her own.

    "The company was very professional prior to the move, they arrived on time and delivered on time. They appeared to take care of the furniture as they carried and wrapped it. However on arrival I was very disappointed that tape had been applied to leather causing a tear when removed and our Rose and Heather dining table had been dented. Further they left us with another persons goods which I noticed after they had gone. After several emails they rang me to retrieve the other persons goods but were not interested in the damage done to my furniture. They apologised but that was it, offered no compensation or even partial refund of thier fee. I had seperate insurance who were excellent but an exces to pay and the inconvenience of getting furniture from Taupo back to Rose and Heather in Auckland for repair. Overall they were a huge disappointment. I would never use them again."

    "I strongly recommend against using this company. We used them for a move overseas. Books were just throw into ordinary boxes and many were damaged. Other items were damaged after being crushed into boxes that were too small for them. And not just the damage, the movers were rude, communicated poorly, and packed carelessly and without thinking. We were annoyed to find, for example, that they had packed the cutlery basket from the dishwasher and a bin full of rubbish! Best to look elsewhere if you want a less stressful move."

    "Tried to charge us an hour or more extra on a one day job in Wellington. Plus a credit card fee when the only way you can pay them is by credit card. Plus, charged my credit card without giving me an invoice to justify the charge. The overcharging amounts to more than 10% of the agreed cost. If they do this with all their jobs, imagine how much money they steal from customers. Do not do business with them. Not worth the risk."

    "The moving company are useless. Unrealistic price to move house and poor unreliable service. Slow staff in the call centre and the physical packers and movers. A 4 bedroom house took them 12 hours. Would not recommend and not use again. I called the manager to complain and he was rude and told me it was out of his control. The way they deal with customers is unacceptable for the huge price you pay."

    "I strongly recommend you not to use this company for the below reasons. They completely ruined our relocation from Christchurch to Auckland

    - unrealistic quote, despite all items were at our house when they visited, they hit me with an invoice for extra $500 claiming I have more items than initially thought. The reason we chose them is because they were cheaper than competitors.
    - unreliable services, items we instructed to leave for our old house ended up going into the container. the move in at Auckland were late, originally told me first thing in the morning and turned up at 4pm. I had to change flights as I was flying back that day ($200 extra cost)

    - lost item, a large piece of furniture disappeared and no explanation ever given. No idea where it went. $150.

    - poor customer services as my feedback and comments were simply ignored.

    So we are $1000 worth off plus tons of additional stress having to deal with this company. Stay well away.

    "These guys were great. We have used them twice now to move within Auckland. Contact with Toni was timely, professional and nothing was a problem, even when we had a key holdup. The guys were great, friendly and careful, especially with my wife's precious plate collection ! Definitely recommend them and I would gladly use them again. "

    "Absolutely terrible! they have all the flashy brochures bragging about how careful and reliable they are and the sales manager with the english accent who shows up in a suit to give you a quote. BUT a company is only as good as its staff, all the flashy brochures in the world dont make up the the complete incompetence of the people doing the actual moving.The truck arrived on time but had trouble getting into our wide flat driveway due to a 'dodgy axel" as the man put it. Workers worked for an hour and then had a 30 minute smoko break where they sat a few metres from my front door right beside the open truck which contained some of our stuff and smoked cigarettes .They packaged things very poorly, with wooden furniture parts bundled together with thin pieces of paper to bind them but nothing between the pieces of wood to separate the items and prevent wood from rubbing against wood,when i asked about this i was told that if i wanted things "fully packaged" i would have been paying a lot more than i was.I told them several times to be very careful with my daughters very expensive and almost new white bedroom furniture ,they assured me they would( it was clear when it arrived that they had not been) .They also told me that as the container that our stuff was meant to be put in was unavailable they would have to move our belongings twice , transferring everything from the truck to the shipping container on monday.Our furniture was due to arrive at 12 pm at our new house, they called at 11 to say they would be there at 1,at 2.30 they were still not there so we called and then said they were on there way and would be 30 minutes.2 hours later at 4.30 pm they arrived with two staff they had hired from a labour agency who told me they did not usually work for the company and one man who said he had been on his way home and they had called him back in to do this unscheduled job because they were "bloody disorganised" i saw staff drop boxes of our stuff as they were carrying two very large boxes on top of one another and they wobbled around dangerously.of course as all the boxes are labelled PBO packed by owner which means as we packed them ourselves they werent insured even though we were charged almost $1000 in insurance ( guess this means they dont have to be careful) why else would they have pbo in big letters on everything. A lot of our furniture was broken and damaged, scratched , gouged and scraped ,in fact the only things that were 100% ok were the items in boxes that WE packed ourselves, despite the rough handling that i saw them receive.I would not use this company again or reccommend them to others."

    "Our goods were in storage with this company for 7 years. We chose them because we fell for the blurb on their website that our goods would be kept wrapped up safely in a container. Not so they were not even delivered by the moving company. Our wooden furniture was delivered unwrapped, our leather furniture was mouldy and everything was smelly and damp. Silly us what did we expect after 7 years. Well maybe some information from the moving company if our goods had been damaged by water at some stage - some information about why if they were safely wrapped up in a container they were to be delivered in such a state and why if the location of storage had changed we were never informed and their charges went up not down.

    If you are going to use this company to store your goods for a long period think again. They will take your money and treat you contempt afterwards.
