"I was charged $300 for parts that I checked elsewhere for afterwards that cost no more than $100. I was charged $150 for probably about an hours work and when arriving to pick it up at the specified time (Before work in the morning) I was told that no note was left and I would have to go home and keep calling to see if reception is in yet so I could pay.

After waiting 20 odd minutes They arrived, I finally paid my bill and they went to get my car, which wouldn\'t start. what I paid for them to fix in the first place!

Probably the most over priced crap service I have ever received, which is really saying something when dealing with a auto mechanic

"I took my car in over the weekend with a brake problem and being due for a WOF. Without looking at the car the mechanic told me it was the rear brake drum and it would be 370 plus gst.
On Monday having been told the car was ready I went to collect the car and was asked to pay 550 and told it had a clean bill of health and a new WOF, I wasnt happy with the increase in price but paid just happy that the brake problem was sorted.
I then popped across the road to the shops for a minute, when I came back the mechanic was driving off in my car. I thought this was very strange as the car was warranted and ready to go.

Five minutes later he arrived back saying that the car had a major problem and that the engine was not engaging properly to the point that I would be unable to drive the car away.

I indicated that I was very surprised by this as no engine issue had been apparent when I brought the car in and I couldn’t understand how the car had been given a WOF if it wasnt in a state to be driven the few blocks home.

At this point the mechanic became quite aggressive indicating that they had only fixed the brake. I confirmed that he had driven the car as part of the WOF assessment and was told the car drove without any apparent issue.

Over the next two days the mechanic indicated that he could not identify the problem, but thought it might be the onboard computer – but good news he had identified a second hand replacement for only 220. Two days later I was called with news that the car was now ready – the bill another 450 dollars.

I indicated that from my pov it seemed dubious that the car had been given a warrant but mysteriously by the time I collected it it was not road worthy. Again the mechanic became quite aggressive and asserted that although there was no indication of any problem at the point the car arrived, or when the car was warranted, by the time I arrived a few hours later the car had coincidentally deteriorated to the point that it was undriveable and significant work was required to fix it.

I strongly suspect that I have been ripped off and find the behavior of the mechanic driving off after I’d paid for the work and come to collect the car as highly dubious. I think it is unreasonable to be charged for repairs and a new WOF and then be told the car is un driveable and to be un professional to the point where I question whether this outfit should be able to provide a WOF service. On the off chance that this was an incredible coincidence I still find the aggressive behavior of the mechanic and the service provided completely unacceptable.

Needless to say I won’t be doing further business with this outfit, and having discussed this with other folks on the peninsula it is clear that I’m not the first person to be ripped off.

"This is the worst mechanic I have ever been to. I called first to arrange a quote for my car, took the car up, they looked at it for about ten minutes not actually stating exactly what was wrong with it, then continued to try and charge me for their time. I responded by saying no, i called earlier for a quote, you cant charge me for a quote. The man then got angry and yelled at me and said he can charge me for his time, I said no, I called earlier to arrange a quote so I can see how much it will cost me to get it fixed. he then got all in my face and yelled at me, he is a big fat scary man and I am a young small girl, i told him to back off he glared at me and yelled and said he wouldnt back off and I told him again to back off and he wouldnt. He kept trying to charge me and I said no and told him to get out of my face. I was so scared of him I thought he was going to assault me. How do they expect to get business with this kind of behaviour, it is appalling and wrong and terrifying. Worst mechanics i have ever been to, do not go to them. They also said a new thermostat would cost 35 plus labour when I know for a fact the one for my car is 20 dollars. Disgusting excuse for a human being."

"I drove in with a loud ticking sound coming from my car engine just before closing time on a saturday.
Not only did the young guy that was there drop everything he was doing to immediately come and assist me, but he was friendly, told me what it likely was causing it, took a look at it and repaired it after 10 minutes work of tapping with some tools, tightening a belt, sorted! The problem hasnt been back since!
Because it only took 10 - 15 minutes, he wasnt going to charge until I insisted on some form of payment because I was so thrilled to have the car running smoothly. Brought him back a box of beer and we were both happy as can be :-)

"I have been to this mechanic on a few occassions and feel they have improved considerably. The work is still to the same standard, which is good, and more importantly for me was that the billing estimate was accurate. The mechanic listened to what I asked for and stuck to his original price, and also did a few extra things on my car to leave a good impression. They did a thorough job and quickly; and also noted other issues that may arise in the coming future."
