    "100% recommended, my husband took my Jeep Wrangler to a different mechanic for a WOF where it failed on ball joints and a tyre pressure warning. As Barry Clarke is my normal mechanic I requested a quote while my husband requested one from where it failed. Barry Clarke's quote was far better plus they replaced the ball joints with far superior parts and simply pumped up the tyres at no charge...fault gone. "

    "I'm just glad I don't have to worry with Barry Clarke Automotive when it comes to dodgy mechanics. They're a totally professional, honest and reliable bunch at BCA. They'll walk you through justifying their work, have given me alternatives and saved me a whole bunch. I've maintained servicing on my cars with them across many years and it's helped with getting a great resale value on them too. They're upfront, thorough and while some say they're a little pricey, I reckon they're at fair value. You get what you pay for and they've never given any reason to doubt their professionalism. Liz is always onto it at the front desk and Darren has a great team; I would only ever stop using them if I left Auckland. Simple as that."

    "The worst experience I have ever had with a mechanic.
    Dropped car off for WOF.
    Failed on a couple of items. Lower control arms / ball joints etc.

    I then supplied said items. Asked them to fit them as I didn't have time to. (should have done it myself)
    When I dropped off the car, I asked to be called letting me know how much it would cost to get parts fitted. No call...
    Next day I called asking if they could let me know how much it will cost AGAIN (to make sure I can afford it) No call back.

    Finally got a call to say car has been completed and I now owe them $1000... they tried to charge me $1000 labor for what should have been a three hour job MAX. Managed to get it down to $800 (still a ridiculously expensive price)

    Lastly…

    The loan car I had broke down on me once. Then almost caused an accident with a truck when it's automatic gearbox failed on the motorway.

    I then drive out with my car back and find that my indicators no longer work (worked when I dropped it off) Lucky I fixed this my self noticing that they had knocked loose the relay.

    Poor service to say the least.

    "Thanks so much for letting me use the WOF coupon one day late.

    Turned up unannounced to drop the car off, pleasant welcome from the boss, nice people in the front office, and speedy service.

    Highly recommended - as a stickler for good service, BCA did the right things for me to come back again.

    Free coffee machine has a nice selection and not too bad either."

    "I have been going to Barry for years now and he would have to be the only mechanic I trust to be truthful and honest. I have to say he isn't the cheapest but he will always look for ways to save money for you and will explain the cost clearly and consisely. The rest of the staff are really good and have worked there for , what seems like, years (mark of a good business). "
