When leaving feedback for a tradie or business on NoCowboys, you have two options:
Just recently moved into a house with terrible access down 51 winding steps and on a day when it was hailing with gale force winds. The two guys that came out were real champs. They completed what would have taken me and a few mates an entire afternoon in 1.5 hours, often carrying 4 boxes strapped to their back.
Really polite, friendly and hard working. Can't recommend them enough!
"At the drop off they didn't bat an eyelid at the less than convenient access (as Wellington is like to… have). They unpacked the items from the truck and placed them in exactly the places and way I told them.
I would definitely use Cool Moves again.
Each time I've found them to be reliable and swift. The contact Mike is good at getting back in touch when organising the quote.
I plan to use them for another office move in the next 2 weeks, and will book them for another… move for myself early next year.
I have no hesitation in recommending them (and have in the past to people, my sister has also moved using them).
Unprofessional, unreliable, rude and bad attitude when challenged. Broke a light fitting through being careless when moving furniture, ripped (and scratched) leather lounge, scraped table and dirt/mud on bed base where they rested it on the ground.
They had issues moving a large couch out of the house and I was very aware of the minutes ($!) ticking by as they tried to figure out how to move it. They didn't seem to have had any proper training and ended up just… forcing it through the doorway.
You have been warned.
When I made the booking, I requested for a mattress cover, which I was told would be provided on the day. I was also told that they'd come between 12-2pm, probably around 1.30pm. On the day of the move, I got a call from them asking if they could come at 11am because… they were running ahead of schedule. I said we were still packing so asked if they could still come around 1.30. When they turned up they didn't have a mattress cover, and when the move was complete, I noticed that my brand new mattress was all ripped up from the move! When I complained about this to them, Mike the Operational Manager kept telling me that it was my fault that I didn't stick to the 'agreed time' and that they had to prioritise other customers so they forgot about my mattress cover - which is complete nonsense as I had obviously stuck to the agreed time, and if they had warned me before they came, I could've arranged my own mattress cover in time. Mike was refusing to listen and wasn't interested in my problem at all. I eventually had to give up contacting them as receiving his responses made me so angry. I would totally recommend using another moving company - stay away from Cool Moves!!!
"Turned up with smaller truck than we ordered, because their customer earlier that day had held them up 3 hours. Better than being late! Excellent service given it wasn\'t their fault.
Their staff were complete ninjas, getting so much stuff packed into that smaller truck. They have skillz.
Nothing damaged. Some very fit blokes who don\'t stop moving, they churned through it fast. We thought we\'d move some boxes ourselves to save money,… but they pack so fast we got cool moves to take them too.
I recommend booking them on a weekday. I\'ve used cool moves a half dozen times, and they seem to have their more professional packing ninjas working monday to friday shifts.
I'd been moving stuff in my car prior to them coming up - I wish I hadn't. I should have just boxed everything up and left to them as they took good care of… everything - I'd gladly recommend Cool Moves to all.
The only reason that Communication is marked slightly down is that I emailed Cool Moves describing that this was a small houselot of furniture but the guys turned up with a huge truck and expected to move mountains of stuff - I'd recommend that if a customer emails, that that email is printed out and given to the movers so they know exactly what they should expect when they arrive - aside from that, I would have no hesitation recommending or using Cool Moves again.
Unfortunately they supplied me with people that clearly didn't care about how they moved items or where they left them.
They smashed a cabinet through complete carelessness, the doors swung open and the hinges plus wood broke off on one door.
"I was promised a very small amount of money to repair this… cabinet, it was to be paid into my bank account.
Unfortunately the cabinet in not repairable and the money I was promised has yet to arrive into my bank account depite having emailed them 3 times with the bank account number.
My suggestion is that with this company you accompany them every inch of the way, watch how they store your goods, watch how they carry them into your property. Tell them where to put your items, (they like to leave them outside).
Be with them all the time. They don't keep their promises.
