I'm so disappointed in this company. The cleaners were 2 hours late and were tired at the end of the day when they arrived. One had a terrible cold and coughed, sneezed, sniffed and wiped his nose on his hands while "cleaning" my bathroom. He then went and sat in his car while the woman continued cleaning - for less time than I'd paid for, for a deal for 2 cleaners.They left more lint and dust… on the furniture from their cloths and poor cleaning than was there in the first place. I had to ask for the bathroom sink to be re-cleaned 3x and it still wasn't done properly - then found they were using a harsh steel mit to scrub the porcelain and scratching it badly. They pushed and mopped dirt into corners and left it. Behind my front door was filthy. Their car dripped oil all over my driveway and when reversing out I noticed this and called out to him, he just said 'yeah I know' and kept going. When I phoned to complain the guy was defensive and told me to take photos of the dirt and send them to him to prove they'd not done a decent job. I did this and have heard nothing since. In addition, I've phoned, texted and emailed and had absolutely no response. They are so foolish - a company that follows up a complaint and deals with it properly can convert an unhappy customer into a satisfied one with not too much effort - these guys have totally dropped the ball. I'm pretty disgusted. I phoned again today and left yet another message and added that they needed to respond before 3pm, or I would start leaving/writing negative reviews .....they didn't respond, hence I've written this warning so others don't fall into the trap of booking them.
MY ADVICE? DON'T USE THEM!
Since posting a negative review on Neighbourly, I've received an email from Shirley telling me that it looks like it was just a wiping issue and asking why I have only disputed their service now - note that I phoned them and spoke to Sam while the cleaners were still in my driveway and have emailed, phoned and texted several times per day since, with no response until this.
Their whole style of communication is attacking and also defensive. There has been no attempt at resolution, no apology and no offer of a refund, although I have requested this.
Having asked 3 times for the bathroom sink to be re-cleaned, I then used some of their cleaner (EcoStore Cream Cleaner) on one of my cloths and managed to clean the sink very easily. The cleaner just shrugged her shoulders when I showed her.
There were food spatters left on the cooktop and the kitchen bench was dirty with crumbs and other smears on it.
The mirror in the bathroom and one in my lounge were left smeared.
There was dirt on the floors of the rooms they supposedly vacuumed.
Pretty much every area they 'cleaned' required re-cleaning as it had more dirt or mess on it than before they came.
Their cloths were either old or dirty, as they left muck and lint on every item of furniture and every surface they wiped. The bases of our bedside lamps hadn't been touched - there was dust all over them and they definitely didn't move a thing to dust.
All in all, these guys are rogues.
I've tried searching for them in the Companies Office register, but they're not registered as a NZ company.
They refused to give me a name of an owner or manager.
Several people on neighbourly have commented and messaged me to say they've also had terrible experiences with HandyClean NZ."
