"Just Had a big 455 Pontiac built through Eric for our 68fb convert this is my second one. We had a 400 done about 5 years ago for another car witch is still going strong to day ..
these guys are really professional eric kept me up to date and informed me all the way . .. I'm booked in for the dyno end August I can't wait for the results..

If you're thinking about getting engine done don't hesitate give the boys at WAER a call you won't be disappointed..

don't be put off by other people's feedback in my opinion they're fantastic I wouldn't go anywhere else.

"I took my Valiant to West Auckland Engine Reconditioners to get it going. It had been sitting in storage for about ten years. It had carburettor and distributor problems and wouldn't start. Eric recommended a new carb , alloy manifold , electronic ingnition and a few other bits and pieces to get it going . I pushed him for a price and he estimated approx $4,000 . I agreed and after about three weeks most of the work had been done . Eric advised they had placed the car on the dyno and it was running well but the carb sucked up all the crap from the fuel tank and now it wasn't running at all (a rookie thing to do) . He advised I needed a new tank and I could fly one in for under $ 1,000 . He advised the work done to that point was $8,900 I was pretty shocked. He was unegoitable on any of the work that I hadn't authorised and I had to pay before I could get if towed out of there . I had authorised some extra work such as frost plugs and hoses but was in the dark about the mounting bill for the work at the time, they couldn't give me an update because they hadn't added up the progress. Once they have your car they have you over a barrel . I had the tank acid dipped ($100) and fitted by another mechanic when I got it back and had the carb rebuilt and it now runs fine.

I would never use these guys again and was gutted because I have heard good things about them . If you do use them make sure you get every thing in writing , Eric will avoid doing this. Do not trust their recommendations to airfreight items in , I found out out that the alloy manifold they airfreighted was available locally and by the time WEAR added all the duty and clearance it was over $1000. Locally it was cheaper. If you are unsure of the advice they are giving you get a second opinion. Get regular updates on where the bill is at and set a limit and put it in writing. These guys are not a member of MTA and are a law unto themselves. I gave them an honest 4 out of 10 on ten on their Facebook business profile and then copped a whole bunch of feral abuse from Eric's daughter Bronwyn . The whole experience has been pretty unprofessional overall.

"I had SBC stroker engine build by WAER.
Not once did they step outside the scope of work that we originally agreed upon at start of the job without first contacting me to get approval.
I am more that happy with the job & would definitely deal with them again.

"Made very clear the work I required to be done, and that as soon as any issue was found to contact me. Things went very smoothly, and communication was great. Knowledgeable with good advice. Again just communicate your expectations and budget as you would expect to have to do with any job of this type."

"Charged me $865.12 to bleed the brakes on a 1974 VJ Valiant. Didn't consult me as to ongoing amount of time involved, and never really explained properly why the bill was so high. When I showed surprise at the amount of the bill, I was told to pay it or I would be charged storage costs. I left the premises feeling totally ripped off, and was completely blown away by the attitude shown toward me. Also the brakes were still not working correctly, and an inspection by another company revealed that not even the disc pads had been changed. I would not recommend this company, and would urge anyone to get a written quote before any work commences."
